Thats fantastic - I can't wait.

I have to say while pregnant every month was Fanuary. I could have raised HEAPS of cash.

Come on girls - lets put the beauty salons, and razors if you are like me - out of action for a while.

Bring it on.

I'm the same. I'm sure lots of women don't I heard the electric razor going a lot when I was in the c/s queue at CWH. Unless they just weren't bothering while pregnant.

just a side question - im way too shy to go into a salon for a *AHEM* "groom"....do many of you go to a salon or hack away yourselves?????

Posted By: busymum
Date Posted: 06 December 2007 at 7:18pm
I would have thought that all women would need shaving pre-c/s because of how low it needs to be? I didn't used to need to do the knicker line but now I do... maybe as I got (a little bit) older?

-------------

Posted By: cuppatea
Date Posted: 06 December 2007 at 7:30pm
Yeah but if they were already trimming they wouldn't need it to be shaved for the c/s.
I don't need to do the knicker line either did need a wee trim for the c/s although the cut was actually way above my hair line so I don't know why the did?

The only hair I've had touched at a salon is that on my head and the only thing I've ever had waxed is my eyebrows!!!

DH wants to now if there will be mass shavings/waxing at the pubs on the first of feb?

BSDH is loving this thread!!!

anyways - i get a brazilian every now and again - usually at beginning of summer etc....(BSDH will now start beggin me to do it again NOW!!)...

and otherwise i cream it off or hack in interim....and did the same (well what i could reach) before my c section - just wanted to look tidy!

Had last wax at 5 months preggers and it hurt more than usual i must say!!!

I used to get them done and its not that bad, just a bit embarrassing I suppose. Really cant be arsed with such things while preggy tho, esp when you cant see down there anyway! Its usually only the first time that is expensive too Kels, once its been done the maintenance waxes dont take long and heaps cheaper.

This is the funniest thread.....!!

My DH helped me trim and tidy up down there whilst I was preggers.....he reckoned it looked a bit like the wild man of borneo towards the end though!!

I used to go the salon and get waxed regularly when I was younger (and fitter!!) but havent really bothered much since I have been married!!!  Just regular shaving for me now!

Oh no luvvy. There is only one lady I let wax me and she is out these ways. She is pretty reasonable though and doesn't hurt. In saying that I am still not getting a brazilian. But I do get them to take more than 20% off LOL!!

I so want to get a brazillian, so much easier getting someone else to do it for me. Might have to be my DH's present for when he marches out in funnily enough in "Fanuary" .

Kels I may have to come down and get it with you for the 20% off. Or you could come up here when they do the 2 for the price of 1.

Oooh, just googled it and apparently due to legal action "fanuary" has been put on hold

but ladies here is some advice from some web page I found

All you need to do is send in before and after pictures…

Some of the suggested styles include:

The Landing Strip (used for the benefit of male first-timers to, “find things in the dark”) - extra points for the dashed line down the middle

The Bermuda Triangle (Where many a good keen adventure has been lost without a trace. “Where the hell is Indiana Jones when you need him…?”) - Must have 3 clearly defined corners. Points for denseness and symmetry. Up-side-downiness gains additional judges recognition

The Tache (”Your boyfriend/husband took great pleasure in your discomfort during Movember… Time for payback!! Let him get pash-rash”) - Points for shape, thickness, ethnicity, Ringmaster pointy bits. NO GOATEES OR ADOLFS!!

Lol Lizzle and boy did I laugh about the koala ears I've never heard of them before but I hate seeing them lol

I used to get brazillians but can't really afford it so now I just shave the whole lot off I hate excess body hair. Although after a wee accident while preg with Jack i let it grow but kept it maintained with Caprece.

I just told Ben about Fanuary and hes not so keen but if i had to put up with movember...

Just to jump in I have cut myself more shaving my legs then I have down there. Believe me you learn pretty quickly what way not to cut and you don't forget either. I have to agree it's itchy the first couple of times and now after years I don't even notice.

I would love to get a Brazilian but way to embarrassed to go in and get one. Plus I have the shaving down pat and it only takes a minute or so now much faster.

Told DH about fanuary and he reckons he would rather just make an outright donation! and reminded me it's no longer the 70's and I'm not pregnant.

I have cut myself once and it was when pregnant. Start by trimming and each time you shave move in a bit closer so you get the hang of it. Brazillians aren't that bad because you do have a g on and they just move it to the middle so they never actually see your bits.

OH! seriously! i thought youd have to take your pants off and ....well let it all hang out so to speak!!

IS shaving a better "finish" than waxing??? ...sorry bout all the questions!! im gathering info so i can try out the best way!

It's the pain factor of a brazilian that puts me off rather than the embarrassment factor. I don't mind that part - but my friend told me about her brazilian experience and I am just too scared now

It really doesnt hurt that much - you've had babies Leish!! If you trim the hairs quite short beforehand it is much less painful. And if they put a cold flannel on straight after they pull the strip off. Admittedly, the first time is a lot worse, but after that its heaps less painful and quick.

The places I had been have disposable g-strings. You hold the undies whichever side they need you too and kinda hold your skin tight as well IYKWIM Oh and they use towels to cover up where they arent doing.

it isnt reall painful and first one i had i was embarassed more for the girl doing it...but then i gave up the disposable g strings...she said she was ok if i was so off it came....more hassle than anything else trying to be modest...

have to say tho i wouldnt want it for a job....I mean pull this outta the way, stretch this bit, leg over a shoulder...and then the butt hair!!!! never knew i had any until i lost it!!! LOL!!!

finish is mega smooth tho...feels divine and ummmm   BDig is a lot more *intimate*

I'm a seasoned leg waxer now, been doing it for years now it is nothing.

If only I had the money to get it done before he goes. But he'll be earning me money to spend so I can spend some on getting one done the day before I go and pick him up.

The day before is a good time to get it done??

I don't mind waxing pain and find legs (shins) way more painful than bikini line. I just love my waxing lady. She's fab.

It would be a surprise for DH for sure BS. Hmmmmmmm - got me thinking now...

You should see my lady Kels. Honestly - she rocks. No ouchies at all - YET.

Wax finish is so much nicer than shaving, its honestly like a babys bottom abd it grows back way softer.

Like someone else said the first time hurts a lot but softer that its fine. The hair stays away for ages your DH will love it.
