So I noticed on the hospital bag list thread that a lot of people mentioned they loved having their MP3 player during labour.

What kinds of music did you have on there? Favourite songs, or relaxing sounds type stuff?

I had the moods cds playing when I was giving birth to Andrew along with soundtracks from movies - I do remember the Titanic soundtrack was in there as that was playing as I started pushing.

i had the radio playing all 3 times although i didnt pay much attention to it- except for during my first labour/birth after things werent going so good and kept getting more news that dissapointed me (ie: having to have an epidural to lower BP) i was lying there feeling a bit blah then the song came on "why does it always rain on me?" has stuck in my head since suited how i was feeling at the time.

I spent 5 hours putting all my favourite CD onto my MP3 player and then didn't use it. My labour was only 3.5hrs all up, so spent more time organising it than using it

i just took a mini cd player with all my fave cds to listen to. i found focusing on the music and not what was happening a great way to get through each contraction. westlife's 'unbreakable' was playing when i started pushing charli, which is the song i walked down the aisle too

I am currently making a compilation CD of my fav songs. I also have a rain sounds cd that I ordered from the Sleep Store online. I use it every night when I go to bed. Love it. Calms me completely.
