Hey ladies !!
Sorry it's been a while since you heard from me, but we had to make it to Canada first and it's been all go since then. I've had a couple things come up though, that I wanted to bounce off you all.
Firstly, my legs have been itchy as !! I'm trying so hard not to scratch them but it's still looking pretty bad, like a rash. I'm not sure if the rash was what was making them itchy, or if it was the other way around. I might not be able to see anyone about it for a couple more days at least - did any of you experience this??
Also, I have always (or at least for a long time) slept on my tummy, and I know they say you are not supposed to do this after the first trimester. What do you ladies all do? I find I am so uncomfortable if I'm not "face down", and don't know how I am going to adjust. I'm thinking about a body pillow, although while we're travelling that's going to be awkward, and I probably wouldn't be able to pack it up and take it back to NZ with me.
Ok, next - more skin problems. When I wasn't pregnant I used to get the very occasional breakout, and it never lasted all that long. However, I'm VERY blotchy at the moment and I *HATE* HATE HATE it !! Is stuff like Clearasil safe to use? What have you ladies done? Please help, coz I need it to go away !!
Last but not least, and this is more of a straight out moan - all of a sudden my double chin is appearing in photos, like the weight I've gained is going straight to my face or something !! As far as the rest of it, it seems to be going to my 'beer belly'... and I'm a little confused as to where baby is actually sitting, or whether the weight is going to the "right" place.
*sigh* Ok, pretty sure that's it for now - although I'm really struggling with my memory too LOL
Thanks for listening !!

Hey sweets,
Sorry I can't really help you out with much advice. I just wanted to give you a hug and say "keep your chin up". It will all be worth it in the end.
As for weight, just try to follow healthy eating (note NOT diet just healthy eating) ie don't do a Britney Spears and have a burger and iced coffee permently stuck in your hands otherwise then you may have to worry.
The other tip I've always been given is to keep up moderate-light exercise...it will really help you shed those kilos after bubs has arrived.
Big hugs and hope you're not freezing tooooo much!

Hey Jax, sorry cant help on the rash, the breakout or weight(although I gained it everywhere!), but as for sleeping on your tummy, I did! right up to about 35 weeks I think and then it was unfortable, So I say to you if this is the only way to be comfy then do it :) your tummy will soon let you know when to stop it.

Thanks ladies, so far so good, even a little bit of advice helps better than nothing at all. Especially the bit about sleeping, because I feel tired often enough and so the quality of what sleep I *do* get is very important.
Exercise at home is not a problem, and I do enjoy going to the gym. I am also prone to showing weight gain ordinarily, so being pregnant doesn't help. I haven't been eating too badly, but haven't been strict because sometimes all I can stomach is a few crackers or some bread with a little marge on it - not so much because the nausea is still hanging around, but simply because I don't feel like that particular food at the particular time. (Like last night I ordered something that looked really nice, but couldn't stand the sight or smell of it once it arrived!)
I usually just have a bowl of cereal for breakfast, a max of two coffees during the day, a sandwich or pasta type salad for lunch, or a bagel, and dinner varies alot but there are usually always lots of vegetables with it. I'd be here forever if I tried to list all the types of snacks I have though !! Haven't been going heavy on chocolate or cheese or anything like that.
Anyway... look at me, whingeing away again LOL
The only thing I'm really worried about with the rash is whether the skin might get too raw (yes, I know, that part is entirely up to me but its hard not to scratch!)... or that anything I might pick up (like a cream) might not be safe *sigh*
Ok, whinge over ! (honest!)

I think skin is a problem for a lot of pregnant people. I didn't get a rash on my legs but my arms were itchy as hell and I had a rash on them. It drove me nuts!!!
The only thing I could use on the rash was a non-cortisone cream called Egoderm. It was truly disgusting, a brown colour and smelled pretty bad. Worked alright though and haven't had the rash back since having Hannah so it must have been a preggo thing.
I think most skin products are safe during pregnancy (like clearasil etc) but you may want to keep in mind that you will be much more sensitive to anything like that.
Good luck!
Oh, the other thing that I'm pretty sure is safe during pregnancy for rashes (though you might want to check with a pharmacist first) is Calamine Lotion. Dries to yummy white patches everywhere but will soothe the itching for sure.

I didn't have a rash but do have a lovely brown patchy face! I use concealer which doesn't really work, but oh well.
As for tummy sleep - i too am a tummy sleeper and I find it really hard to get comfortable on my side or back. Travel with a big pillow was hard so i used a rolled up towel under by belly and between my legs and it helps.
