Do you think competition is healthy for any business??

My friend has been a beauty therapist for as long as I can remember, and about 10 years ago (I think) she decided to open a business from her home. So her and her hubby built a nice little "house" out the back of their section and she has been doing really well. She has just found out that someone she knew years ago (they trained together) has brought down the road from her and is doing the same thing.

Now she thinks it'll be fine as she has her clients and is sure her clients will stay with her, but is a little pi$$ed that she never said anything till the sign went up.

I have told her that there are other big beauty therapist place in town and she has survived them coming into town she will survive this one.

I turned it around a little bit (as she knows I use MCN's) how many WAHM are there making them and most of them are still around, and still doing really well and bringing out other products ie mumma pads and breast pads.

I think I made her feel better, now she is trying to think of something new she can do.

i think competition gives you the push you need to do new things that maybe you wouldn't normally have thought of.
