Okay quick background story I had my period last week it finished on Saturday, mine are always heavy for the first two days then light for the next two then stop. I never spot or have breakthru bleeding. This one was light but the same length.

Last night DH and I were having rather rigorous relations and just as we were finishing DH said hold on your bleeding. So I got up and I was bleeding it was bright red and quite heavy. Anyway after half an hour it hadn't stopped so I rang healthline and she told me to go straight to the docs. After 4 hours waiting I saw the doc who did and internal and said he thought it was just left over blood from my period brought on from the "relations" and I would probably spot a few days and then it would be fine.

What bothers me is we had far more rigorous relations on Sunday so wouldn't it have happened then? Also when I changed there was what look like a clot but on closer inspection looked like tissue.

Today the bleeding is reasonably heavy not just spotting and there have been quite a few clots the size of a 20cent piece.

Now I'm not sure whether I should go back and get a second opinion. I am also wondering if I was maybe pregnant and had an early miscarriage. My last one was removed by D&C so I don't know what happens when you have one naturally.

Any Advice???

If it concerns you, go to the docs (but perhaps a different doc) just to get a second opinion. That would personally worry me a bit enough to go back to put my mind at ease and answer those questions.

I'd say see another doc too, even if just to put your mind at ease.

I would be heading back to a different doc to get checked out.

It could have been the combo of 2x relations setting off an extra clean out. The clots don't seem too big and I wouldn't suspect m/c considering your AF last week seemed normal. Has the bleeding settled yet?

It has slowed now I'm thinking that may be the case. I asked my practice nurse today on the phone and she said that due to my iron levels being so low (haven't started taking tablets yet) that my blood won't be clotting as well as usual so that could also have played a part. She recommended I keep an eye on it and as long as it doesn't get worse and stops within a few days I should be fine if not go in.

Poor DH he rang me this morning to see if I was okay. He was really upset and thought he in his words "Had broken me".
