Hi, I am currently living in Palmerston North, I am 19 and have a 5 1/2 month year old boy. My partner is joining the Army on the 28th of January for 3 months, so I would really like someone to live with me for those 3 months.

Or how about taking an exchange student in, not sure how it all works but a lady at coffee group does it all the time, has a japanese girl staying with them now plus you get a little bit of money for it.

I would suggest getting a girl if you go for a japanese student. In my experience, and I am not meaning to be racist - it is just what i have seen while here and in japan, many of the guys are really well looked after by their parents - like fed, bed made, ran around after, cleaned up after, and when they come to another country boarding, they tend to expect the same thing from their new "mama-san". now not all guys are like this - my friend masaru was fabulous, but many are. Girls aren't so bad. Ring IPC and they can get you in contact. you can also place ads on the Massey classified ads.

Haha lizzle I always tell people the same thing about Jap boys whenever they talk about getting in a student!

My mum has always said "girls only" when it comes to Japanese students as well, and she has had a few stay with her. They are always totally lovely and polite.
