Whats peoples opinions on the GoGo bags, in particular the Merino GoGo bag as they seem so expensive to buy and then not like it!!
Thinking of getting one for Lauren to sleep in while on our Christmas holiday (we are going camping) as she has started kicking her blankets off even though she is wrapped so tightly, her little arms even escape now. Haven't had one, but found the cheaper sleep sacks worked for us. Would love to get a gogo back as I've heard fantastic things about them, everyone I know who has one raves about it.
We just bought a light cotton sleep sack from the baby factory for DD for summer, and have a lovely merino one that was made for her by my SS on another forum (so lucky!) and alternate those. ------------- Mum to two gorgeous girls! |

| We have Grobags for our wee boy and they are great! The only thing is he does go through a few of them as they are sized more specifically then the Go Go bags. It's also handy to have a spare just incase you get a leak so two go go bags is a lot of money. Not sure if they are light enough to use when it's this hot? |

| We have a couple of sleeping bags from the warehouse (like $10 each that I put on Daniel if he's in a hyper mood and kicks his blankets off. So since having those I don't see the point in paying sooo much money for them. Daniels are good cause once hes in them I can put a blanket overtop of him and he doesnt really seem to be able to kick the blankets off |

Hi peachy, I did a bit of research on gogo bags and grobags. Ended up going for a couple of grobags as the were alot cheaper, and had good feed back about them. I think both types are really good. Great if you have a little one who kicks off blankets! Found these couple of links that you might find helpful.

We've got a gogo bag & I love it! Matthew is a real wriggler & never sleeps in one spot so it's been heaps better than trying to use blankets. They are expensive, but then they do last until bubs is 2 whereas other ones seem to go up in 6 month increments so you might end up paying the same anyway.
Having said that, I've also got a plain cotton one for in the summer on those really hot nights. I got it from the sleep store http://www.thesleepstore.co.nz - Sleep Store I did also try some cotton ones from the baby factory as they were pretty cheap, but they had a seatbelt hole in them & the position of it meant that Matthew could get his foot through & he often ended up with his leg poking right out & it looked really uncomfortable!!! ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

We have 2- a summer weight and winter weight one. I find them really good- I like the idea of using natural fibres (if you're using the Dr Sprotts system they work with that) and also, like Nic01 mentioned, that they go from newborn until 2 years.
I would recommend them- but if you just want a sleeping bag and aren't bothered about natural fibres or it lasting for ages then a grobag does the job fine too. We used them with Charlotte and have a few as back up for Kate now and they're good too(and alot cheaper!). ------------- Jen, Charlotte 7 & Kate 3

| I got my go go bags when sleepstore had a recent promo and they are great (except when Tom throws up on them or leaks - but they wash well). It has been really hot here (30+) and some nights I have just put him to bed in his nappy and safetysleep and then snuck in later and placed a cotton blanket over him but last night I just put him in his go go bag and a nappy. He was happy. |

I too have been doing a bit of research on this in preperation for our new arrival and when I was on the sleep sore website I noticed the had instructions on a certain way to wrap your baby which they say is wriggle proof. But ofcourse not having tried it I can't say for sure and am just repeating what has been said on their site. But might be worth a look if you want to continue wrapping for a bit longer.
P.S The seatbelt holes can be a pain - I've sewn up a few for friends!!  ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Merino is great because it has the ability to temperature adjust, so additional blankets are not necessary. I have two and I would say they are the thing I would love the most and hate to have to do without. ------------- Lou http://www.babysfirstsite.com">

One of my favourite purchases. We have a cheaper Warehouse one for odd time his nappy leaks but it is much smaller and won't last much longer. Has been fine though for that purpose. The Gogo bag will still last for ages. I love that it heat regulates. I have a summer one so in winter sometimes still put an aircell blanket over him. It was good for night feeds as I knew he was nice and snuggly. The Grobags weren't around when I brought mine so didn't look into them. They sound good too. I know it seemes like an expensive purchase at the time but I certainly don't regret it. |

Love it! Best baby buy ever in this house. We've had one since Elle was 3mths and although I agonised over the cost it has been totally worth it! We'll need to wean of it though (we also have a cheap cotton one we use if the go-go bag is in the wash) as Elle won't sleep without a sleep sack now. It's a sleep cue + I know her temp will be regulated so I don't need to worry :)

We love ours as well. One of the best things that we bought for her. Ours wriggled and crawled (on her back) up to the top of the cot. Initially we put her in her bag then stuffed a bit of the excess material down the bottom of the cot to tether her in place. She's become so used to it now that she doesn't crawl up the cot anymore.
We also use *cough* cotton pillow slips during the hotter day sleeps. Put bubba in the pillow slip and put hands under the lip of the material so can still suck on hands without scratching face. Worked for awhile when she was younger and then pulled hands free, but is still good because can't wriggle it off like blankets. |

we have been using a peke moe which i love as it encloses the arms and is cotton, but now it will be naked nappy and a sheet to suck on. too hot for anything heavier! -------------

I love our Go-Go bag as well. I know it is expensive, but I figure if it is going to last her until she is 2 and at least I won't have to buy any other blankets. Now that she has started moving around her cot, it is invaluable as at least I know she will be warm whereever she ends up sleeping ------------- Mum to Ella (5) and Tom (2) |
. Baby Caterpillar also do a merino sleeping bag.....I have got the winter weight one of those and the year round Go-Go bag. Baby Caterpillar is slighly cheaper (around $129 for 9 months - 2 years) but doesn't have the holes that the Go-go bag has for use in the car/buggy etc.
