After having a couple of weeks of feeling pretty good I am now back to vomiting and constant nausea. I am almost 25 weeks along!!! Has anyone else been through this, or know of anyone who has been this sick?? I am feeling pretty upset about it all, it's just horrible. I want to be able to say that I enjoyed being pregnant, but I don't think that's going to happen!

You might wanna go to the doctor or talk to your midwife. You can get some medicine to help the nausea I think, and you need to be carefuol about not getting dehydrated if you keep vomitting.

I've got anti nausea medication, which does work, but really only stops the vomiting not the feeling really sick.

Oh Claire I feel for you - I finally stopped throwing up at about 28 weeks, but the icky feeling never went away until after I actually gave birth.
If you are not keeping anything down, you shoul dtalk to your midwife or doc because you could get dehydrated, especially with the summer heat.
Otherwise, I found chewing mint gum helped to keep the yucky taste out of my mouth which helped settle the nausea a little, as well as lemonade ice blocks, and lots of small sips of water.
I also found that even tho I stopped throwing up *every day* I still had the odd moment where I ate something that baby didn't agree with and was really sick, and that kept up until she was born.

A tip my friend gave me was...

When you feel nauseous to suck on a wedge of lemon... it worked really well for me....

Hopefully it might help you too...

I have vomited a bit since about 25 weeks and I still feel abit nauseaus in morning at 41+ weeks. For me it has been caused by the reflux or acid stomach. My baby is still high because of his size so I'm still getting it.
I found drinking ginger ale or ginger beer helped with nausea. I also found eating small bits regularly better than large meals and I always eat a piece of toast as soon as I get up.Funnily enough potato chips are also really good and have been recommended. I was given a pamphlet on combatting nausea by the midwife so it is worth asking.

Actually funny you say that newgirl, I've been feeling a little nauseous as well recently. I thought it may have been some naughty food I'd eaten but bubba is highish I think and causing reflux as you said!

You girls are so great I've been getting reflux and heartburn too - last night was the worst - I totally powerchucked in the general direction of the toilet but ended up with it all over the floor, toilet, cistern and windowsill Jono carried me up to the upstairs bathroom (no mean feat I can tell you ) and I lay in the bath and bawled my eyes out. Feeling a bit better today, but am a bit anxious about being at work in case it happens here too.

Thanks Nikki I'm actually doing a bit better today. I am wondering if I've eaten something bad - I had a potato top pie yesterday, and one the day before, and those are the two days I've been sick..... I've been only eating healthy stuff (and apple pie/crumble) so my body may not be used to the fatty food.

Could be. I didn't tolerate fat at all in the later stages of my pregnancy - mince gave me wicked heartburn, so bad that even now I can't eat it.

I'd definitely recommend those seasickness wristbands, and some of the other stuff that's worked for me is ginger ale, plain rice, plain toast - the last three mostly help cut down on any reflux.

As far as the sickness issue in general, I can't say I have morning sickness anymore, but I have to be really careful about how much I eat - in that my appetite has changed heaps. I can't have 'big' meals anymore, I have to eat every 3 hours or so, and make sure I don't get dehydrated. Last night I had some nachos (nice ones, not all soggy or anything), and pushed myself too far - couldn't keep down one iota of it when we finally got back. Went out for dinner tonight and did a better job of sticking to my limit. I think this phenomena has come about because baby has moved up alot and is squashing things a bit.

Oooh... and the mint gum thing is good too, someone else mentioned it, but I'll second it !!

That's about all I can think of though.
