This was being talked about on another forum, there has been a tv show that shows women with these dolls. Basically they treat them like real babies. What freaks me out though is how they are prem and they look dead. Take a look at the auction....weird and very creepy.

I really don't get why anyone would want one, and what I find most disturbing is that the women buying them seem to like the idea that they are prem. That e-bay one has it hooked up with feeding tubes and stuff I just find it so disturbing.
And OMG about the female dolls, you can't help but laugh at the desperation of some men -------------

Did you see the 60 minutes/ 20/20 (can't remember which) special a while back about guys who were 'with' those Real-Dolls...?
My God! Honestly. I can understand being lonely and all that stuff, but umm... Sometimes there's a line. There was one guy on the doco that sent his doll off to be reconditioned (he wore her out pretty much ) And he was in tears as he was putting her in the shipping carton, kissing her goodbye and all this stuff... I mean, really!?-------------  My wee girl is the love and light of my life!

They're amazingly done- they look so lifelike! I just don't get why anyone would ever want one? Seems odd/creepy.

The real baby dolls if you were a collector (like porcelin dolls) thats fine but yeah that one hooked up to the machine was going a bit far.. who wants to see a baby like that real or not real? Credit to the person who does it though talented. As for the real 'woman' dolls - nope can;t see the point in them except for some sick person who wants to 'hump' them all day. They couldn't do anything else now can they they are a companion unless you like talking to yourself. LOL... ------------- Ann

No I didn't venture past that one page.
The ladies on the other forum where saying the women on the show were taking the babies out in prams and had carseats and clothes and bassinets and even fake formula and bottle warmers. All sounded very bizarre, we will probably get the show out here soon. It was called "my fake baby" -------------

Those men don't bother me I'd rather them be doing that than going around raping people (not saying they would) but they aren't exactly hurting anyone by having a doll. |

It's creepy how they can get breathing and hot pads built into them too. Too weird for me. The female adult dolls as well, thats just weird too. I watched that doco and actually felt a wee bit sad for those guys, they must really lack self esteem. I think the guy who had a real gf actually got dumped cos he spent more time with the dolls than with her! And also they're soooo expensive!! Those reborns are interesting, some of them are really just so very lifelike - i use to collect porcelain dolls and had one very lifelike baby one that i loved, however, breathing etc is going too far, and monitors and oxygen prongs. why oh why would anyone CHOOSE to have a baby like that, i sure as heck know real mums would never wish for it in a million years.
