I'm weaning Brenna onto cows milk and am using dark blue but then I noticed a special kids cows milk (for 1 -3 year olds I think).
What's the diff? Which one am I supposed to use?
Thanks

just a marketing ploy, hun! they are meant to have "added goodness" but its noting you won't get from a good diet anynow, and its blardy dare.

Don't bother with the kids milk, we tried some and once I poured a bit into a cup, and this lumpy stuff came out - rang them help line and they said it was normal - bits of additives separated sometimes

I've been getting that toddler milk, which I think the special one is, for myself for a few months now. The one we buy is the Meadow Fresh Junior milk as it has iron added to it as well as zinc. I have never had any problems with it separating or being lumpy either on cereal or in coffee or tea etc. I know Anchor have a toddler milk too but don't think there is anything much special about it - just added calcium.
Anyways, we'll def move Gina onto the Meadow Fresh Junior when the time comes - I think the extra iron can only be a good thing and I don't think the milk is any dearer that the normal Anchor/Meadow Fresh ones.
Here is a link to a nutrition comparison - http://www.meadowfresh.co.nz/products/product_detail.php?bcod=9414832875469 - Junior milk

Junior milk or mega milk is blue top with extra calcium it is more expensive than normal blue top and not sure there is any benefit.
Blue Top is the best milk for the whole family and the most economical too!

We get Miss M Blue Top...we were getting the Junior milk but it is pretty pricey especially as we drink green top and there haven't been any disasters moving her to the normal Blue Top.

now, see, I find meadowfresh and anchor WAAAY too dear, I buy budget milk if I get it at the supermarket, or I get at couplands, 2 2l fot $5.50. We go through a 3 litre milk, or one and a half 2l in 2 days, so we (jake) drinks heaps and it gets very dear.

Dairy dale or budget are cheaper and its all the same milk, it all comes from Fonterra milk vats.
I used to work for the milk man and the cheapest place to get blue top is the Mad Butcher at $2.70 for 2L.

So is there any diff between Anchor/Meadowfresh bluetop and the cheaper brands?? I've always wondered why there's such a price difference for the same kind of milk...

We get the Pams 3lt light blue top. At Pak n Save it was $4.75 or something like that and at New World it was $3.69. I would have thought it would be more expensive at NW. I can see why some people give there kids fizzy drinks.....1.5litre of Budget Cole, .89c

Yeah but coke is just sugar and water a lot cheaper to make compared with the cost of growing a milking cow .
Pams, Budget, Anchor, Dairy Dale etc is all the same milk from Fonterra no idea why they vary it just the different price points that Fonterra set.

Ihate it as well, but mr 2 loves it, plus we all have it on our cereal each day. It's $2.70 at Couplands bakeries as well, plu stheir bread is only $1.10 a loaf, so big savings, and bread stays fresh for ages, too.
