So the name is maybe a bit OTT but I was talking to a friend this morning about times when you do something to save your child from being hurt. It all happens in a split second and when you think about it afterwards you can’t believe you actually did that (and if you though about it at the time you probably wouldn’t have been able to).
My random heroic act happened in my pre-mummy days when I looked after my sisters kids every weekend. One summer evening we were sitting in the back yard talking to our neighbours and the kids were screaming around (as they do). Our back yard had a flat section and then a 1 metre drop to a concrete path. I was sitting near the edge with my back to it talking to my neighbours when Josh (2˝ at the time) tried to run behind me, tripped on the concrete retaining wall, lost balance and starting falling. I saw it happen out of the corner of my eye and before I could blink I’d turned around grab him with one arm and hauled him back to the grass.
It wasn’t a spectacular life saving manoeuvre but I’m still pretty impressed with myself and was wondering if anyone else has stories to share.

Baalamb did one this afternoon when Fay decided to take a dive off the steps at MacD's play area. Very quick hands, thank you Kirsten
