When is it reccommended that you geet some of these?? (I'm in pregnancy bras at the moment) I find it a bit weird to get them before baby is born (although who would have time after!!) because don't your breasts get bigger again once milk comes in (not that mine have increased in size at this stage 36 weeks!)? Also would reccommend getting them proffessionly fitted or is it ok to go it alone at Farmers or something?

TIA!!!

I was in maternity bras from 20ish weeks - for comfort really. I just got mine from farmers alone and made sure it had room to grow and room to shrink and they worked fine.

Yea Ive been in Maternity bra's for a while now for comfort as I am nearly a DD normally. I just got mine from K-Mart and I got a few from Farmers and the warehouse aswell. I doubt I'll get fitted for them unless when my milk comes through my breasts go crazy lol

I was in maternity bras from about 20 weeks I think, purely cos my normal bras didn't fit anymore (comfort thing). I have no hope at all of fitting them now! I got mine from Farmers and they were only about $20 each.

I had one properly fitted at about 20 weeks, she allowed for growth in the cup and then just went out and bought some cheaper ones myself. My BB's didn't grow that much after birth, maybe a little until they settled back down.... but they did grow during pregnancy about a cup size.

I was in them with Andrew from 3 months pregnant (as a comfort thing). I got all mine from Farmers. But with Josh some how I increased in size and needed bigger cup sizes and wasn't prepared to pay horrendous prices for the bigger sizes I just took the wire out of a couple of old bras I had and wore them. I ended up going down to B'n'T in Lower Hutt and getting some one sale for a very nice price.

I think it depends on the comfort as most non preggie bras have underwire in them, you will find you probably need to go up a few sizes till you get to the 36 weeks stage anyway ( not always obviously), after 36 weeks if you buy some, if you can fit your hand comfortably in the cup while it's on that will cover enough room for your milk......your boobs are only HUGE and hard for a few days till they get used to the milk supply.

I wear the hotmilk range from the lingere shops. I went to farmers and they dont do a size for me (20DD when not preggers) so I thought sod it, I may as well get something that looks nice and fits well. They're expensive - $69.95, but its the first pretty bra i've had in a long time! If you can afford it - id highly reccomend them. Ive been in once since week 10. :)

I have a huge range of matermity bras (have been wearing them since early 2005, lol) and my faves BY FAR AND AWAY are the hot milk bras, I have 3, closely followed by triumph. You should have grown all youare going to by now (not including engorgement, buthtat lasts only a few days) so get fitted properly, thats my reccomendation,a nd do it now while everyone has sales on. Get fitted properly!!!

Thanks for the advice. I've been in pregnancy bras (the new range that bendon is doing) for months now (like you all a comfort thing) as I didn't see the point of proper maternity bras that early on. But I've been thinking I might try the bendon outlet store, they have been really good when I've bought normal bras in the past. But I've been really surprised with how little my breasts have grown through the pregnancy.

Yep Bendon outlet store is great.

I went to Farmers yesterday to get another couple of bras, they had some of the nice Bendon ones in the 50% off sale but they were too small for me I would never have thought I'd have that problem!

But they do have a really good range called Nurture, maternity bras for only $20 (that's not on special). They also have some good feeding singlets, I got one for in hospital cos I don't have any pj tops that button up and I'm fussy about my pjs.

Hope you find what you're looking for

This is all very interesting. When pregnant, when do bbs typically start to grow/become heavier? I am still very early on (7 weeks) but haven't noticed any growth.

Hmm mine started getting bigger I guess at about 10 weeks or something?? And have gradually grown since then. It's really quite amazing!! Especially for those of us who are not used to being well-endowed... although it does mean I now have some lovely stretch marks cos they grew quickly! I think it's different for everyone really

My boobs were the first indication I was pregnant! I had grown a cup size when I was only 4-5 weeks pregnant, which is when I did the test and found out. Now at 37 weeks, I have gone from an A cup to a D cup and have horrendous stretch marks but DH seems to think it's worth it still

Definitely think that it's one of those things that is different for everyone...

That's good to know. That it can happen at any time and doesn't have to be right away.

With ym first i too grew really early on, went form a 10DD to an E by 6 weeks and was a FF by the end of the pregnancy, my boobs didnt get any smaller after and i stayed the FF, this time around they have got fuller and i am JUST starting to look at getting something for growth but can survive with i already have.
Everyone is so different, i expected to get smaller but ended up bigger, even after losing the 20kg i gained!!

I got my first one (Bendon flexiwires) at about 8 weeks as my regular ones were killing me and I had huge red lines at the end of the day. I'm now 15 weeks, and had to get another one last week having gone up another cup size (to 12D). I'm hoping it doesn't go up much more! I had a professional fitting at Bendon for the first ones but not the last purchase as I felt I know what a good bra should feel like, and I think I'm right! Bendon outlets tend to have breast-feeding bras but not the pregnancy bras, from what I've found. The BEndon lady suggested getting fitted for your feeding bras in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy as you're likely to stay a similar size after that. I've taken advantage of the sales, and Bendon also have a buy 3 and get one free deal.

Thanks for the tips on engorgement - I wondered how long that would last and if I'd need even more bras!!!

Mountaingoat as I said earlier I'm 34 weeks and I've only really gone up one cup size, so it does vary from person to person.
