I hate people that indicate incorrectly on roundabouts.
Do not indicate that you are going right if you are going straight ahead moron!!!!
People that half pull out, so they come out of a side road onto the bit of road by the verge then pull into the traffic.
Do I know that that is what you are doing? NO I have to assume you are just pulling out in front of me you dick!!!!!!
People that drive at 90km and then when they get to the overtaking lane speed up so I have to do 140km to overtake them in time.
Just stop it you stupid f**kwit!!!!!
Oh trying to turn right out here is a nightmare, what is it with the lights, they are designed so that you pretty much have to go on a red.
The stupid righthand rule thing, so dumb i'm not even gonna get into it.
When I have just cleaned the kitchen and DH makes a peanut butter sandwich and puts the sticky knife on my clean worktop, the dishwasher is two foot away!!!!!
Coffee granules in the sugar.
Hmmm that's all I can think of at the moment.

Actually cuppatea, the law for indicationg around a roundabout is that you indicate right until you pass the exit just before the one you want then indicate left for the exit.
So if people are indicating right to go straight ahead, then indicate left after they pass the previous exit theya re doing it correctly.
I hate people who don't indicate left when they are leaving a roundabout no matter which road they are exiting onto!

Sorry miss, but you're wrong lol I know this because I almost failed my full test for that reason!
From the ltsa website:
If you are going 'straight' through a roundabout:
don't signal as you come up to the roundabout
signal left as you pass the exit before the one you wish to take. At some small roundabouts it may not be possible to give three seconds warning, but it is courteous to give as much indication as you can.

Throwing finished toilet rolls on the floor rather than taking them to the bin
Leaving recycling on the kitchen bench when I specifically went and got a couple of bins for the bottom of our pantry for recycling - at DH's request
Putting plates in the dishwasher but then leaving the cultery in the sink to go all gross
|
Posted By: kebakat
Date Posted: 19 January 2008 at 8:28pm
Ohhhhh another is when parents come over and have a cup of tea (we don't drink tea) and the put the teabags in the sink rather than stepping 2 paces away and putting them in the bin
Dumping stuff in corners of a room rather than taking them back to where DH got them from.. for example, bringing in his bike pump for god knows what, then he left it hiding in the corner of the dining room semi hidden behind the table
Grr! lol

Dont get me started on drivers on the road I have very low tolerance(aka bad road rage) for people who dont know what the F they are doing. They shouldnt be on the road if they dont know what they are doing and boy racers
One of my top hates tho is people who are rude. Whether saying mean things, talking behind a friends back or just being mean for the sake of it really irratates me. A smile and maybe a nice hello can go along way. I am terrible for stoping people and commenting if I have witnessed said behaviour.

Bubbles in my coffee. My mum stirs my coffee so hard that it makes frothy, icky bubbles in the centre of the cup. I hate the bubbles.
People who stand in small groups in the doors to shops, or just in the general walkway of the majority of other people.

Smoking! Esp in public places, like at outdoor concerts - where you can't actually get away from them. Smoking at bus stops on a rainy day, or around my child... yes I will say something if anyone dares to do that!

I've got heaps, I'm very intollerant, lol.
Lack of knowledge of road rules, ESPECIALLY give way ones.
and my pet pet pet hate. People who wear their bloody pants/jeans too long and don't get them taken up so they get all manky and tatty on the bottom from walking on them!!!!!! Any drycleaner will do it for about $10 if you can't do it yourself. It looks sooooooo foul, especially if you are going to a job interview etc. ICKICKICK
Spitting/hoicking on the street.
People smoking in cars when there are kids in there
Dumbasses parking in baby/disabled car parks when they are clearly only disabled in the head and have no babies cos they are'nt allowed to have babies with their uncle boyfriends or sister girlfriends.
People who say "so, yeah, no" as a "filler in of empty airspace." Yeah no. WTF!!!!!!!!!! its either yes or no not both.
Muffin tops and seagulls and camel toes.
Oh yah and imappropriate dressing when you are "curvy". Ladies, just because you can squeeze your lard ass into it dosen't mean you should wear it, and just cos you can buy it in your size does NOT mean it looks nice/you should wear it.
I should stop before I explode.

Mine would be:
Leaving dishes on the bench when the d/washer is right there, and it's empty.
Towels on the bed or the floor
Toilet paper being hung the wrong way! I hate this.
The gooey yucky toothpaste that sits around the top of the tube..which causes the lid thingy not to close.
Tampon wrappers left on the floor of public toilets.
The liquid soap on the vanity and in the shower not being refilled when clearly they need to be, oh and the soap is in the cupboard.
Cricket
Shop owners charging anywhere from $2.60 - $3 for a 600ml bottle of Coke Zero.
Black knickers under white pants.
OMG I could go on.

Swearing, I so hate swearing but I am the worst offender.
TP hung the wrong way - totally with you Mel! I like mine hung into the breeze!
People that dish out parenting advice when they either have no experience or don't/didn't follow it themselves with their own kids.
Olivia being extremely dirty and people quibbling about Olivia being moderately dirty (moderately dirty is still slightly clean!).
Having to go to the supermarket with Hubby while I am doing something (like cleaning or getting organised) because he doesn't want to go himself.
Seeing fingerprints on glass or windows at my home (don't care about anyone elses!), I hardly ever clean my windows and they are totally covered and it ticks me off.
Dog fur! I have a chihuahua and she is like a Japanese fishing vessel leaking oil. EVERYWHERE and I have to vacum daily just so it doesn't get into everything.
I have more, I just have to remember what they are!

Miss the fuss was just telling everyone what they should be doing i.e indicating cos no one use to bother and that they would be fined if they didn't. Unfortunately it led to people indicating incorrectly instead of not at all which is even more infuriating. (well to me it is anyway)

dishes on the bench instead of the dishwasher
DH not rinsing pooey nappies
Dh leaving clothes all over the floor

Great thread!!! Heheh seems like a lot of us hate the same things! Mine top ones would be:
TP hanging the wrong way
Smoking. Full stop. But especially people smoking outside buildings so I have to walk through the cloud of smoke to get in or out. People smoking anywhere near where people are eating.
White shoes (except for weddings and sneakers) worse is white shoes with pantyhouse. Eeek worse is open toed shoes with pantyhose!!!
DH dropping / leaving things around the house.
Tissues not flushed or put in the bin after use.
DH leaving babies washclothes in the bathroom sink rather than walking into the laundry and putting them in the bucket to soak.
Muffin tops / Camel toes....and boys (even worse - men) wear their pants so low that all your can see if their boxers....hate it!

Here's mine...
*Having visitors put away my dishes and they end up in funny places so I can't find anything
* People who leave their supermarket trolleys in the middle of the isle while they look for their food/stuff
*Lazy people who use the baby parks when they don't even have a child

I can't stand the noise of metal cuttlery scraping across plates, ooo it makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
I think I'm the opposite with muffin tops, I don't mind them if they have tried to look nice. I can't stand people who go out in hideous clothes without doing their hair.
People pushing in in a queue and then getting served this is when I will actually say something cos it annoys me so much

I was a smoker for years, but I would never smoke around mine (or anyone elses ) child, thats just gross, and i would always smoke as far away as i could around non smokers, especially not standing in doorways at shopping malls etc, so it annoys me when smokers do this cos i know first hand its not necessary
The other thing i hate is when someone calls YOU and then they expect you to make the effort to make the conversation and they dont help you at all , when you would much rather be watching tv but they rang you and you were polite enough to answer

With the right hand rule- I think the reason it works having it the other way around over here is that people are more courteous drivers. In NZ (well in the cities anyway) I don't think it would work as well as I can just imagine being stranded in the middle of the road waiting to turn and no one ever letting you in! I HATE driving in NZ now- having driven over here and in Oz I just can't stand how aggressive/pushy/rude NZ drivers are in comparison.
My pet peeves at the moment are slow walkers who manage to take up the whole footpath, people who bump into you/your pram/your child and then don't say sorry, smoking urgh , people who back into carparks and take 15 attempts to do it and men who ball up their socks when they put them in the wash!

Okay right now I think I am blinded with having a houseguest for too long so here goes...
Not making your own bed when you stay at someone elses house.
Complain about food and hinting about different take away places the whole time.
Screaming or disciplining my child right in front of me.
And she woke up so will tell later.

Making food in someone elses kitchen and mess the whole place up and leave it for them to clean up.
Getting up at 5 in the afternoon after you have worked your butt off getting everything ready for a holiday and then them saying: "Oh I was going to get up early to help you out."
Telling me how to raise my child when you dont have kids of your own and doesnt look like you like kids at all.
Told you guys it is all going to be about guests. Sorry.

Stacey are our men related? Happens in our house too. ESPECIALLY the recycling thing. Dh's beer bottles are left all over the lounge/office/bedroom (where he plays his xbox) - but if he actually DOES pick them up, they just go on the kitchen bench, left for me to put a few paces away in the recycling bins (which DH also went out & bought!!!)
You're lucky the dishes do get put in the dishwasher, Dh hasn't mastered that yet .

I have heaps too but heres a few of mine.
Leaving t bags in the sink instead of putting them in the rubbish, which is directly under the sink.
Leaving junk mail all around the house in odd places
Not stacking the dishwasher properly ie cups where the plates go OR not rinsing things before putting them in the dishwasher
Not folding the towels properly, I always refold.
And with road rage, people that indicate to pull into a side road a mile ahead of where it is and then when they get to it don't bloody move over so you can't get past.

BIG pet hate is
leaving dirty dishes in the SINK - it can be on the bench but NOT in the sink - and the food that cloggs up the plug hole - yuck and I hate it!
Toilet roll when ran out being left in the toilet - whats so hard about bringing it out with you and putting in bin or fire!!!
Toilet roll put on the wrong way (I always have to turn it around - even in peoples houses although i have mellowed on that)
People talking about someone no nicely behind their back (back stabbing) its just not right.
Drivers that speed up on passing lanes.. grrrr
Liers
People who say they are going to do something and then don't

My pet hates are the squawking cutlery on plates too (eeek! shivers just thinking about it), squeezing the toothpaste from the middle of the tube not the bottom (and also the cruddy stuff that builds up around the nozzle bit).
More things that bug me are hoicking/spitting in public, nose-picking in public (not rude in Asia), people who stand in front of the train doors when people are trying to get off, school kids who let old ladies stand for me on the train/bus but don't offer to get up themselves

LOL AnnC. I don't think it's as bad in NZ because it's not necessarily the norm, but here in Singapore (as in most parts of Asia) taking your shoes off indoors is commonplace .. and it's rude not to so lots of expats just have the "shoes off inside" rule anyway. I always explain to "out of towners" though ... even though I would have thought ME taking MY shoes off would be self-explanatory (as well as the shoe rack next to the door

Mine are as follows :

2. Leaving skanky undies and socks on the bedroom floor.. (is it REALLY that hard to pick them up and take them to the laundry????)
3. Dirty dishes in the sink.. on the bench yes
4. People who do half arsed jobs.. I end up going around behind them and doing it again so I should of just done it myself.
5. People treating me like I'm an idiot... I wasn't born yesterday ya know?
6. Back Stabbers
7. Liars
8. The lack of courtesy from drivers for foot traffic
