having a baby is a very expensive exercise so I would be interested in anyone's DIY baby item ideas.
For instance I got sick of going through thousands of zip lock bags to put dirty spoons in when we were out and about so I went the $2 shop and bought single toothbrush travel cases - Jack's spoons fit in there quite well and I no longer have dirty spoons in my baby bag.
I would love to hear other people's money saving ideas

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Save on wipes by using cloth wipes - when out wet with water, squeeze out a little and place in a Tupperware container - they will stay moist and be ready when you need them.

Oh I like the toothbrush holder idea!!

I use the "Friends" brand of nappy bags to dispose of nappies when out etc but when I'm at home I just hang a bag over the rail of Coopers change table and put all the days nappies in one bag. As it has the nice scent it masks the "nappy" smell and I get about 5 nappies in it before having to put it in the bin.

I also use cloth wipes, but that's because Cooper has sensitive skin and bought wipes are just like sand paper on his butt!

Zinc and Castor Oil cream I get on prescription so that it only costs me the 70c subsidy instead of $8.00 a jar in the shops.

I make my own baby food.. WAY cheaper than buying it, and bought some baby bowls with lids for when we have to go out.

We use cloth nappies, plus cloths at home but baby wipes when out - will try the cloths in a Tupperware container once I run out.
I make mu own baby food as well although I am running out of interesting options for Jack, especially finger foods.
Thanks ladies!
