Hi. I am 28 weeks pregnant now and I have been having these stitch like pains that come and go. I usually get them when I am walking for my exercise so I slow down and they seem to go away, but today it just come on whilst I was sitting at my computer.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this cause for concern?

Carissah I used to get stitch like pains as well when i was pregnant and walking or had walked too far, I asked my midwife about them and she told me it was because i was overdoing myself. That wouldn't explain the ones at the comp tho. It might be best to contact your midwife or doctor and check with them.

Hey, I have had some too when walking and when not. Sometimes it can be from things such as
Baby sitting in funny place,
Gaw bladder problems,
Appendix as they move when you are pregnant
Your body muscles loosening and spliting

All of these are normal however if the pain doesnt go away or gets too bad it will need to be checked especially if it is the Gaw Bladder 2 people I know have had this and had to have scans and tablets to settle it down.

Hope they go away nasty things!

Oh yeah i forgot to mention, my midwife also said it could of just been my stomach muscle stretching and allowing room for the baby to grow.

Thank you so much for all your comments. The stitch has gone now so maybe it was growing pains but will keep an eye on it anyway. You ladies are great!

I got the same pains and my midwife said probably just growing pains, but that I needed to drink more water. that said, i would still check any pain just to reassure yourself.

I used to get a killer sore muscle in my stomach. Man it hurt like hell.
Anyway, that's just a fyi. Nothing interesting to say. Sorry!

when i was first preg i got them heaps, and was told the same as lizzle - drink more water... cos it could be a urinary tract infection starting... also mixing cranberry juice with a little lemonade can help - cranberry is good for the bladder etc... the lemonade just makes it taste a bit nicer lol.

I got wicked stitch when I was preg with Maya, usually when I was overdoing it (like dancing at the work xmas party lol). Sometimes I also got Braxton Hicks that felt like stitch as well.

my midwife seems to have an obsession with forcing more water down my throat. everything can be cured with more water according to her...she's really nice though!
