Charge us another letting fee even though we paid one when we moved in and have been here 2 years.. If we want to renew the tenancy we have to pay another letting fee.. doesnt seem fair considering how long we have already lived here..

Nothing about letting fees at all.. the normal stuff. 3 max tenants, no dogs, yard to be looked after etc

So you were on a two year lease? Sounds to me like your property manager is trying to get more money out of you. I know we didn't pay anything extra when we re-signed on this house.

First we signed it for 6months.. Paid $250 letting fee and we payed 4 weeks bond and one week rent in advance, we were paying $250 a week rent, Then we signed it for a year, rent went up to $270 we had to pay extra bond as we paid 4 weeks @ $250. Then we signed it for another 6 months, rent stayed the same, now its time to resign and they want $280 letting fee and rent has gone up to $280. So we have to pay another $40 to th bond.

firstly you shouldnt have to pay anymore in bond at all after the first time..and as for the letting fee I could be wrong but unless it says so in your tenancy agreement they are trying to do you outta money...maybe ask tenancy tribunal?

I agree. You should have only paid one lot of bond. They can't charge you another lot of bond just because your rent goes up. Thats ridiculous. They are cheeky doing that to you. Call Tenancy Tribunal..

Yep, I'd definitely ring the Tenacy Tribunal, they're really great at giving straight-forward advice about all this sort of stuff. Sounds to me as though they're trying to make money outta you (beyond the obvious I mean )

Kandice, I just called a friend of mine who's a property manager and he laughed when I read your post to him, and his response was "that's a new one" he said to call TT right away, and DON'T pay anything else. If you have to go to Citizens Advice...He also said if you leave they may owe you money

While I was flatting, our rent went up and we NEVER had to pay additional bond.
And when our lease was renewed, nothing happened payment wise other than the rent going up. Definitly NO additional letting fees.
I wouldn't give them a cent for bond or letting fees

What a cheek!! Asking for more letting fees! They should be thankful you want to renew your tenancy so they don't have to go through the process of finding another tenant!
I'm quite thankful we've never had to deal with signing tenancy agreements as we've rented off my dad & now IL's since we've been back from England - 5 yrs now. And they don't bother with bond or 4 weeks in advance!

I even think its rank that they can ask for a top up on the bond. You paid the bond when you moved in, a set amount. I think its crazy that you have to pay more. Its all lodged in the same place and chances are you will get it all back but still - RUDE!
