This is a very random topic
I was just reading an old magazine while having my lunch and there was an article on Kate Hudson. And a pic of her with her son Ryder. It occured to me that every time I see a pic of Kate Hudson and Ryder, he looks like a girl. And for some reason that kind of bugs me a little - I mean surely she didn't want a girl that badly.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think she should shave his head, dress him up in a military uniform and give him a plastic gun but still - he always looks like a little girl to me.
What do you all think? Am I right or over- reacting? Do you think this is a cool look for a boy?

But if you see pics of her ex, Ryder just looks like him - long haired, rocker -hippy mix.

Not my cup of tea, but I can see where it comes from.

He reminds me of the kids from Hanson.

I reckon it's just coz he wants to be like his daddy.

Ryder's hair has always bugged me.

And I remember seeing something on TV (Oprah, or E or something) with Celine Dion talking about her son's long hair.
I don't recall exactly what was said, but it was something along the lines of allowing him to choose if he wants to cut his hair or leave it long. He'd never complained about it, so she's leaving it until he complains.
He was 18 months at the time. And didn't know any different.

See with Celines son I can see why she wouldn't want to cut it- those curls are GORGEOUS! But with Ryders? Must be a weird celeb thing.

I think Elle Macphersons son(s?) have that long hair thing going on too.

I don't really care what they do with their kids hair... each to their own!

As a Mum to a wee boy who used to have long hair it doesn't bother me at all, I doubt its because she wants him to look like a girl. If it was up to me Jack would still have his gorgeous long hair but his father made me cut it If the kid is happy why cut it?? I don't particularly like a shaven head on little boys but thats just me.

Oh Rach it's a shame you had to cut Jacks hair it was gorgeous.

I don't have a problem with it either I'm growing Jame's hair for a bit not has long as Celine's son though.

I wouldnt be too worried about Ollies hair being long-ish, as he has a very boy-ish face so I dont think it would be an issue. Celine Dions boy's looks too long for my liking though. DH had long hair as a kid and he looked adorable!

Jake has long hair, but he looks like a boy. I HATE short, number 2's or whatever, sorry, but I think that looks like your kid got lice so you shave it off...

It is kinda yuck hair though, but each totheir own, i guess. What really ripped my nightie was THE DUMMY in the pics. ICK ICK ICK Now, I;m not anti dummy, but time and place....

I suppose, if girls can have have short hair and not get picked on about it a boy should be able to have long hair. I just personally dont like long hair on boys/guys, Im more into the funky short styles, maybe its because my mum is a hairdresser so my brothers always had the latest funky short do's My DF used to have longish hair like it was floppy blonde when i met him, but I cut it off He looks much more manly now I think.

Seb won't be getting a hair cut anytime soon... Dad has long hair, and maybe looks a little androgenous... but only from a distance. I don't think Seb's getting away as a girl no matter how long his hair is it doesn't grow very fast anyway, so he'll probably be at least 3 or 4 before it's a decent length.

In our family I'm the one with short hair Having it long annoys me!
