 hi just wondering if anyone can give me some advice....today I showed my dr some funny little skin tags that had developed under my daughters arm and was told that they are molluscum contagiosum....started as a few ltttle ones and now there are a few more.and tonight found one on hip.dr said they are really common and not a big deal but had a look on web and saw alot of yucky pictures of kids that have had it spread all over their bodies.....I dont want that to happen.Dr said to just leave it and they will dissapear over time(6-18mths).on web they had couple products that reckon cure the things....and friend of mines daughter had it few years ago and she had a dr recommend squezing cple and that they will go away over night.she tried that and it worked...aparently.but was very painful for her....eeek what do I do???????????????????------------- Caleb 15/11/02 Brooke 14/11/05 |

Nothing. Don't touch them. Nyah got put on antib's for hers because they spread all over her face, and she got a nasty fever with it too.

Roxy do a search as there is a post about this and has a bit of advice in it. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

Short story is that they are fairly common, particularly in kids with excema. They don't hurt and for the most part they don't really disfigure until the immune system kicks in and starts killing them off, as it were. They can spread through bathwater??? but I didn't find that out until too late and we didn't have any spread. PS Squeezing them won't help cause it's a virus - what a dumb idea! PPS Once the body starts fighting them (they will go red at that point) you can get some antibacterial cream to help with that process but until then, it's useless. You really have to wait for the body's immune system to beat it. -------------  |

Oh thanks heaps.glad I mentioned the squeezing thing...thats made my mind up to leave tham alone........Ill check out that thread.thanks so much!!!!!!and I have been bathing my two toghether too.....and Ive bathed with her and so far niether my son or I have any signs of them.....should I warn my sis and friends that brooke has them as thier kids have all had skin contact with her.....I hate being irresponsible and inconsiderate.... ------------- Caleb 15/11/02 Brooke 14/11/05 |

Hey you haven't been irresponsible or inconsiderate at all, you had no control over the fact that she was going to get this. Ok hopefully none of them will freak out Hope Brookes immune system kicks them out quickly cause reading that other thread has made me realize that its just going to be somthing we will have to just accept for awhile.........hopefully they dont spread cause at the mo there is only bout 7 under her arm and one on her hip with a few tiny little ones around it......grrrrrrr horrible bloody things our precious little angels can get eh!!!!!!!but rather this than something life threatening or permanent....and at least I now no there are heaps of us out there with kids that have or have had this........Brookes not a freak ------------- Caleb 15/11/02 Brooke 14/11/05 |

My granddaughter Caitlyn has had them in the past few weeks. they are a thing similar to warts. we got cream,
interesting that they are common in children with excema |

well went into health2000 and an organic health shop today and was sold coloidal silver in one shop and hypericum oral liquid and scarless healer in the other....so maybe they will work...worth a try...... ------------- Caleb 15/11/02 Brooke 14/11/05 |

They look similar to warts in a way but they are related to the (small)pox family (not chicken pox). It seems they are very difficult to spread but beware all the comments from strangers particularly little children who think it's chicken pox lol ------------- |

We used that Roxy..Paige my 8 year old had it all over- was yuck. I used the Wheatgrass in conjunction with this other stuff on the net and it cleared it up......
I DID find that once I broke the skin on the BIG first one that started it all off..it went away real quick..However unsure if because of that or the two "potions" I was putting on it. -------------

YUP thats exactly what happened with Paige...she had One for ages. I should have got the core out....Was about three months before it migrated over her torso and all down her arms and legs.....Then from the time we put cream on to when they cleared was about a month I guess...BETTER than the "up to two" years the doctor said it can stay for!!!! -------------
