No becks you're not an alcoholic the rest of the world is just having trouble keeping up lol. I'm totally on your side.
Here's why it is okay for me:
1. If you open a bottle it needs to be finished otherwise it will spoil and the taste will change therefore giving you a warped impression of the wine's true taste
2. I need to know what wine I should and shouldn't be serving my guests or taking to dinner parties
3. I am a musician, I have to drink some more to change the sound as I blow across the top of the bottle - and I had to open the second bottle because I drunk the other and now it won't make the sound I like. My favourite tune is UB40's 'Red red wine'
4. SOMEONE has to be the example when it comes to recycling. They wouldn't make the bins so big if they didn't expect you to fill them either
5. My glass is empty but the bottle is not. How is that fair?
I have many many more reasons but we'll just leave it at that for now.
It's a lovely Sunday, DH and I have just polished another bottle of bubbly. We are purchasing the bubbly for his best mates wedding next weekend so we're sitting in the sun each with our laptop making sure what we get is good enough. Loving it so far!!
Enjoy your wine Becks!! As long as you maintain a happy healthy attitude and have fun so be it.
So many wines so little time............

Yes thats what made me think. OMG I so sound like one.
But it was nice to hear from DH's cousins today that wine is a intergral part of being a single mum to the army

Teehee, any excuse
Mind you I had my first alcohol craving in ages today, I've been sober since May '02 and very rarely crave it these days but Willie opened up a nice, cold Steiny this afternoon and it was stinking hot and I was just like "ahhhhhh, I'd kill for one of those!" Settled for a lime cordial instead.

I will say thou I do know when to stop. Last night I had 3 glasses and that was it. I've had 2 with Liz today and 1 with DH's cousins but that'll be all for tonight I think - i'll start drinking the coke again.

Thats a bit like my dad so he doesn't have any - well thats a lie. He's had 4 glasses of wine since being sober. 1 when I had Andrew, 1 when I got married, 1 when his friend was cleared from cancer and 1 when I had Josh. All pretty big moments.

I don't even trust myself that far. I was a nasty, nasty drunk and I'd be too worried that if I broke my sobriety with one glass it would be too easy to have another and another. 5 1/2 years of sobriety has been hard earned and I don't want to spoil it!

I had alcohol cravings too Emma and I think it was only when Daniel was having something, and all I wanted was the cold fizziness of it. Moved onto Sprite now!

Congrats Maya on 5 1/2 years sobriety!
I don't drink full stop ...only been tipsy/drunk twice ...three times AT THE MOST and was in my younger days.
I much prefer my orange juice, I don't see what the fuss is about but I guess I can thank my parents for that!(they're Non-drinkers & not allowed alcohol in this house)
