Dh should but doesn't. If he does need them now at least we won't have to pay for them YAY ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

Yeah, I should probably being wearing them still. Haven't worn them in years. It is very hard to find shoes to fit them - you can't get any of the nice shoes around unless you search for some that have a high ankle support  ------------- http://lilypie.com">

busymum just to let you know my situation, I had heaps of problems with my feet as I was doing alot of running and I went to a foot doctor (can't rememer what they are called) and the doc said to buy some good quality shoe inserts before getting orthotics made, as sometimes the inserts can correct the problem and are alot cheaper. I got some from Athletes Foot for about $50 and I used them in all my shoes for about a year and now my feet are great again! I just wasnt getting enough support in shoes, especially under the arches and they would ache all the time!

Just want to second what Peaches said - I use inserts brought at FrontRunner and they are great. I also just need a bit more support under my arches. they hadn't fallen but with my running get a bit sore. I say try these first before spending heaps on things you might not need. ------------- Angel babies Mar '04, Oct '08 and Sep '09. |

busymum I had fallen arches and they used to absolutely ache all the time. The insoles I got corrected the problem and I now permanently leave then in my running shoes as that is when they can start to ache again. ------------- http://lilypie.com"> http://lilypie.com">

Yep thats right busymum. If my work shoes are enclosed though, generally winter ones obviously and my arches are playing up I will pop them in for the day every now and then. I had completely flat feet, and when I was around 12ish saw a podiatrist who made me some orthotics - had to wear them all day every day for a few years, but I don't need them at all as an adult, as they've done the trick to 'build' arches and strengthen my feet. So I'd day if a Podiatrist has seen your feet and said you need them, get proper ones that are custom-made for your foot, but if it's a case of achey arches but you can still walk on them (mine were really, really sore - couldn't run at all, and every step hurt) and haven't had to see a Podiatrist, then maybe the Shoe Clinic could help? ------------- Andie |

I had them made as a child, think they were cheap though as children are funded? Not quite sure on that one though. I would second what Peachy said though, try the ones from the sports shops first as they're often quite good.
Lol mummybecks - the army is great for that kind of stuff. DH gets nice new shoes all the time, got his wisdom teeth out for free, and is possibly getting his shoulder reconstructed for free too (although the army caused the problem in the first place, but hey!) |

Andie - We went to the shoe clinic to look at shoes and they tried on their two best (and most expensive  ) on me and said one of my feet was still rolling really badly and that I'd need to see a podiatrist for orthotics. I'm just dragging my feet and procrastinating as to the bill! So much to buy, always ------------- |
