Subject: Quick Solids Question

I started Cooper on Baby Rice over the weekend, one teaspoon at lunchtime like directed on the pack. It didn't go down too badly.
Today I gave him one cube of pumpkin at lunch(which Can I say, I got soooo much satisfaction from making and freezing etc for him ).
So my question is, do I give him another at dinner time? Say around 5ish? OR do I just keep going at one cube once daily for a while?

Keep going on once a day until his body gets use to having something really different, then you can increase the amount he has and then think about going to 2 meals

Cool thanks, I thought as much, but as he ate it all, and so quickly I wondered???
Just read the other Solids post from a few days ago and lots of good comments there.

Hi Sparkle,
Good on you for making your own baby food! Just give him one meal a day until he is eating a bit more, and then increase that out to 2 meals. You'll find over the next few days he'll start wanting quite a bit more at lunchtime - and you'll know when he's ready for the second meal. Good luck with the solids!

At this stage solids are for mainly getting bub used to different tastes/textures etc and having something else than milk. Keep to one feed until he's having 1/2 cup per meal than increase to 2 feeds etc. And keep trying different foods to get him used to different flavours.
And good on you for cooking

Dont be suprised if he goes from one teaspoon to half a cup very quickly! Tom had one teaspoon one day and half the jar the next. We have just started 3meals as of today (boohoo...more work for mummy) on Plunkets recommendation as he is always hungry and is having boob and formula. He is a VERY active baby!
