We are having a few money issues ATM so mum suggested being a home based carer (its what she did when we were little) so is anyone else one?
Does anyone have any advice for me? I've emailed Porse but might look into a few other places.

Whereabouts are you? What about Barnados?
I'm actually thinking about becoming a home carer myself, as I'm not sure that I want to go back to my job. Not sure who to do it thru though...
Good luck

I second all those things but also with the kindy down the road from you you could always put a notice up or something and see if anyone would be interested in you picking up the kids or dropping them off. i know my sister had a real mission arranging work and childcare around kindy.

I am a homebased childcarer in Hamilton with Waikato Family Homebased Childcare. It is great but I don't have any of my own so only have the 2 I look after to worry about. I would look for a company that is smaller cause I think they take much better care of you. I have a great teacher who visits once a month and who is always at the other end of the phone if I need her. Hope it all works out for ya

Okay, so how does homebased childcare work? I do not like the one and only childcare centre we have here and have been wondering if putting Xanda in homebased care might be better for him.

Aparently barnados are really good for this service too.
Homebased care has got to be better then daycares i reckon less child to teacher ratio.
