Okay, who else is watching? I've honestly had a little accident from laughing too hard!!! I feel so sorry for those people who think they can sing and are obviously really REALLY REALLY bad :/ heheheheheheeh.

Unfortunetly (or fortunetly) I have already seen most of it as i've been watching E news - those first few episodes are so funny thou. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

I only watch Idol for the first couple of shows (to laugh, to cry, and to see who gets in to the top 10). After the early ones, it's all over for me.

Yep I'm watchign it! I do like the singing/dancing reality t.v. shows. Like it better than the Survivor/Dating ones.

Oh Baby On Board, I am the same, I thought it was really mean that they laughed so much at him, when I saw him I thought he was going to be really good. And he looked so sincere !! But I did also have a wee giggle cos he was terrible. I don't know if people actually think they can sing or are just wanting their 10 secs of fame !

some of them really need to be told they cant sing , cos whether they dont like being told or not , they cant! kelly Clarkson was (and still is) my fave idol, ive been watching her auditions, and clips of her singing thru the show and her live performances, she can really sing |

I missed it but can not see how some of the really bad singing people could think they are good enough - surely they must go on there just for their 2 min of fame! I loved it, I was in such a foul mood, then it cheered me all up! I even had a cry at that Temptress girl who was so sad and they handled her so beautifully. Plus I cried when they talked to the family of the girl whose daughter has rett syndrome. -------------

Oh yesterday I nearly cried for the Moses guy too... when he was singing I thought surely it must be a piss take, but the look on his face when they were laughing at him... he just looked heartbroken  I just wanted to go and give him a big hug.

I have to ask if your kid liked singing but wasn't any good at it, as a parent would you encourage them cause they liked it or discourage and suggest the focus their talents on something else.

Re: if I'd tell my child they weren't a great singer. Tough question, I'd want them to follow their dream but wouldn't want them to be humiliated. I would tell them straight, rather than letting them think they could sing when they clearly cannot. It would save them the humiliation later on. i loved that last dude-with the cape and all that!!! the guy in the belly dancers(??) costume was just plain weird!

I wouldn't do it because even if I liked singing enough to go far with it, I think I wouldn't want to go that route.
As for kids, I think I'd be like, "well if you really want to then we need to get you as ready as possible" and enrol them in singing school or something. And if they were terrible I'd hope that they got sick of the homework in a hurry or vastly improved with tuition!! ------------- |
