OMG! A friend has just had a baby 5 weeks early - and she didnt even know she was pregnant until 3 days ago!
She was getting AF the whole way through, put on a bit of weight but didnt think to much of it because she had stopped BF her other one and thought it was because of that.
Total shock Crazy really. It was only last week that she was saying she never in a million years wants another child!
Total total shock for the poor girl

OMG!!
My mum didn't know she was pregnant with me until 20 weeks, and that was only because she went to the doctor when she started feeling a bit 'heavy' in her tummy - thought she was getting sick. She's not a stupid lady, she was getting her period all the way through too! Crazy.

The idea of that freaks me out, I want another baby and all but I want a healthy pregnancy again which means no more wine with dinner, how can you do that if you don't know.
How are mum and baby? Both fine I hope.

Good grief another one! My best friends cousin was the same, gave birth at 36 weeks to a 5 pound baby that she didnt know she was pregnant with until she went to the toilet and stuff started happening. We all wondered about the whole thing, but she still reckons to this day after having another planned baby and knowing what that one feels like, that she never felt him move, and as she was fat anyway, she didnt notice any extra weight going on. The mind boggles.

Man I feel sorry for her!
Just found out more she had her 6 weeks early apparently and she found out just about a week before that that she was pregnant so that would have made her 33 weeks when she found out is that right?
Apparently she is in a very bad way, what a complete shock.
I saw her about a month ago and she certainly didnt look pregnant! She didnt lose much after the baby was born (not the surprise one but one before) so maybe it was because of that.
She rung her parents when she was in labour because she hadnt told them when she found out she was going to do it when she saw them the next weekend but since bubs come early there was no time! Imagine getting that phone call - they would be like wtf!!

Shes in a bad way because of having another baby - there was no way she wanted another one.
This one is a girl and her first was a boy (who she was very sick with) but hasnt been the slightest bit sick at all with this girl!
The wee boy must be just over a year.
I feel sick for her, I know the way she felt about having more children and there was no way it was going to happen ever.

Awww, that is so sad.
I have to admit, after having Ella I was very cynical about women who said they never knew they were pregnant until they went into labour, especially ones who had had babies before the surprise one. But after having Benjy I can so see how it would happen. If you were still getting periods or had been irregular beforehand, you wouldn't suspect. If you carried your pregnancy all over rather than all out the front, you might just think you were putting on weight. Especially if you still had some previous bubba jelly, you might not notice your tummy getting stretched and hard.
And I still sometimes get flutterings and bumping in my tummy that feel so much like a baby moving, but are probably actually gas , so if you didn't think there was any chance of pregnancy, it would be easy not to notice it....
Anyway enough rambling. I really hope your friend feels better quickly and that she gets to enjoy her new wee girl soon.

Oh wow! Poor thing!
A girl I went to school with had back pain one day (not at school, this was after we had grown up and left!) and her mum had a wee feel around her tummy etc and said 'OMG I think you're in labour!' She had put weight on all round but not much, had periods the whole way through. With her second, she didn't find out till 5months pg and that was because she went to the doctor for something else, they took bloods and what do you know? Up the duff again!
I hope the shock goes away for your friend soon and she can get over it enough to enjoy her wee girl. Sucks that she was adamant she didn't want another child though Must make it so hard for her.

Those stories are crazy!
And after already having one baby, you'd think you would notice being pregnant with another one.
I hope she can come to terms with having another baby soon.

Liz was about 16 weeks with Taine when she found out, now that was a shock! But finding out at 33 weeks would be even worse!
I could never be pregnant and not know it, I spend most of my pregnancies with my head down the toilet so I'd know by about 6 weeks.

yeah BBSmum, same thing happened to my friend, only reason she went to the doctor was cos she was feeling run down, he asked if she was pregnant, she said not a chance and he suggested they do a test anyway-which was positive, since she was still getting bleeding she had a scan-and there was her healthy 7 and a half month girl on the screen.
Worked out well for her, she didnt want kids for a long time but shes absolutely smitten by her daughter

Wow that is amazing. I guess depending on where they are carrying the placenta can mask the movement as well as Mel has said we still get the fluttering of a baby moving when it is only gas.
I was able to hide my pregnancy when I was at course as I was carrying all over so not hard to do. No one found out till I was 8mth preg with Mercedes that I was even carrying and I was with them all day 5 days a week. I know it is different from these ladies as they didnt know themselves but it shows how you can see people and not know they are pregnant even 8mths along.

A relly found out she was pregnant when she went into labour - and she was a nurse.
if you don't suspect it then you wouldnt think of pregnancy to explain any symptoms.
As to feeling kicking, I know loads of peopel that have felt nothing or as good as during their pregnancies. I ended up on monitoring because bubs was hardly felt.

wOw that's amazing.. Poor lady hopefully she comes to terms with the shock and her new baby. If not adopting out may be the answer.
We were going to go on the wait list just before i found out we were preg with Luke. Have friends who can't have kids who are waiting. It may be something to think about.... may not. Any way hope all works out
It would be freaky to suddenly have a baby with out all the pre planning and time that you usually have!!!

Poor lady
A girl I went to school with didn't know she was preg until she went into labour, she was only young too and totally in shock so she adopted the baby out.
My MIL works in the womens health part of chch womens and she said once a lady came in who looked kinda pregnant and in pain but must of been indenial cos she was totally shocked when she found out she was 29 weeks.

Actually, i also know a girl that hid her pregnancy from her parents, her parents didnt know she was pregnant til she was in labour -and even then, between each contraction, she was denying it!
Wonder if after the baby was born she said to her parents "im NOT pregnant.......anymore!" haha
When i was 8 and a half months as a dare,(and looking very pregnant) i went and asked for a pregnancy test at the chemist,oh the look on the poor guys face

I guess if your not expecting or trying to fall pregnant then you wouldn't think anything of it if you felt some strange movements in your tummy.
I've heard of this happening to so many people but I've always wondered how it could happen, how could you not actually know. But it seems to be really common.

I guess it depends on your pre-preggie size. There is no way in this world I could get to even 5mths without knowing I was preggers so that made it really hard for me to understand at first. However, if I imagine being bigger and having periods, I'd probably think the kicks were just gas bubbles.
It's quite amazing to not notice any weight gain...are the people who this happens to quite big around the tummy?
