For those of you who only got mild morning sickness, when did it go away?

I have had practically none the last couple of days, and don't really feel tired anymore. Hence why I am up at 12:25 worrying!!

As most of you will know, I had two pretty traumatic miscarriages and am really on edge about losing this one too.

Just having a self-pity moment, trying to figure out if I am normal and seeking some reassurance!

Mine went away around 10 weeks, I just seemed to wake up one day and it was pretty well over.

I hated the time in between when morning sickness finished and when you could feel bubs move etc...if you are concerned I'm sure your midwife would be happy to talk to you.

Hi Laurie

I had mild morning sickness with both my kids and with this pregnancy. By mild, I mean I feel nauseous pretty much 24/7 but I don't actually throw up. With the other two it carried on till about 20 weeks so I'm resigned to feeling pretty rubbish for another 10 weeks or so with this one too. I have days where I don't feel so bad.....on those days my poor boobs get poked many times to make sure they are still tender (hehe, tmi??). But every pregnancy is different and alot of lucky ladies seem to lose their ms at about 10 weeks. Apparantly it's around then that the placenta kicks in and your hormones settle a bit.

I understand the worry after a mc, my first ended in a mmc and I've never been able to completely relax and enjoy a pregnancy since.

Big hugs from another anxious mum-to-be. Hope you got some sleep.

I didn't really have any ms with Gina and only mild one with this one.
Can you get another scan in the next few days for a peace of mind? I agree with Paws, it can be quite stressful until you feel bubs move. Can you maybe rent a doppler?

Thanks for the comments girls.

I feel like asking for a scan, but I also don't want to be taking up health resourses unnecessarily!! I haven't had any pain or spotting, so I think my midwife would discourage me. She probably thinks I am neurotic. She's probably right!!

I thought about the doppler, but I heard you can't really pick up anything until after 12 weeks anyway. And then I will have a scan anyway, and if everything is ok I will hope I can relax a bit more.

I just know how much can go wrong in the first 12-14 weeks, and the not knowing is really hard.

Hi guys,
Laurie hope everything is ok. If your really worried go for a scan thats what you pay taxes for    A doppler would be kinda cool but they won't pick anything up until about 12 cause its still so small. My MW tried at 10 weeks and could only get mine.

It usually tapers off around 12 weeks and 'feelings' start around 17 weeks. Count yourself lucky!

Hey Laurie,
You could hire a doppler still if it would give you piece of mine ever now and then, just get one once you get to 12 weeks, then if you are feeling a bit worried pop it on your tum and listen to babys heart
You will be having your 12 weeks scan soon as you arnt far from 12 weeks,so try and relax a little until them, Im sure everything is totally fine. Everyones MS is different remember, mine peaked at 8 weeks and i felt as sick as a dog then started to get better at about 12 weeks i think, but not totally right until 15 weeks.
I had days where i felt tired and then other days where i felt totally fine. My friend had NO ms at all in her frist trimester(grrrr cow lol).

BIG HUGS hun, i know how hard it is to not worry, especially after what you have been through.

Hi. I had 24 hr nausea but no vomiting from about week 6 until about week 13. I still feel sickish occasionally but nothing like what it was. I can feel all sorts of things going on inside me but don't think I've felt any baby movement yet. I would still talk to your midwife, especially since you have previously m/c. It's what she's there for!

I wouldn't bother with a doppler till at least 12 weeks, closer to 14 is better coz bub can be tricky to find and you can get unneccessarily stressed if you can't find the heartbeat. I've got one, I used one with the gremlins and it truly did help keep me sane even once they started moving to know that I could listen to them whenever they had a quiet day.

If you're really anxious (and believe me, I was!), go for a scan! Never mind 'wasting resources' - that's what they're there for and if it gives you peace of mind then it's worth it!

I found my m/s/hyperemesis fluctuated too, I had some days where I threw up all day and others where I wasn't as sick and that always made me panic. Now bub is bouncing around and I am STILL feeling sick and sooo over it!

Yeah i definitly agree with you on the doppler Emma, wouldnt be worth getting one till 12 weeks +, my MW wouldnt try hers on me until at my 13 week appointment, and then we heard it nice and clear, and she heard it as soon as she put it on my tummy. BUT my last appointemt she couldnt find his heartbeat very well lol, but we wernt worried as he soon kicked the doppler to let us know he was fine and dandy hehe.

Also, if it would make you feel more at ease go and have scan, dont feel bad for having one! You have every right to feel nervous after what u have been through hun.

I had nausea that varied between all day with no let-up, and then it would totally disappear for days at end! I found it was worse when I was tired. I agree that the sudden lack of symptoms freak you out... (eg. had some spotting at the same time that boobs stopped hurting and nausea was gone, which was very scary, but it was all fine in the end). My nausea slowly got better around week 10-11, and was pretty much gone by week 12-13.

I say ask for a scan if it is really worrying you - unnecessary stress can't be good!

I suffered a miscarriage and have been particularly anxy this time around. and when my MS suddenly disappeared around 9 weeks(literally overnight!) i was so stressed out it was happening again! i called my midwife in the end and she sent me for a scan. it was such a relief to see the heartbeat! You are allowed to be neurotic. even though there may not be anything wrong, the added stress of not knowing cant be good

Thanks guys. I am hoping that I can just hang tight for a little bit longer. I feel a bit more sick again today.

I am so emotional today too! I feel so sad and frustrated for no reason. I started a new job at work today, and my first day went great. But I have to get up at 5:45am now as it is an early start and then there were massive public transport issues coming home. It took me an hour just to get a bus, and then I had to stand, and I was wearing high heels and my feet hurt. I got off the bus and cried all the way home!

Finally got home safe and sound two hours after I finished work (normal is about 35 mins) and I just feel awful. What a drama queen!

Gotta be a good sign though, eh???

Yep! Gotta love the hormones! Only another few days till you can have your NT scan, you can have it any time between 11 1/2 and 13 weeks.

Emma, unfortunately mine's booked for 17 March... exactly three weeks today!! Seems forever away.

Luckily I have a few exciting things booked - Cirque Ici at the Festival of the Arts, catching up with my sister-in-law over from London, her wedding in Akaroa, swimming with the dolphins, seeing my twin neices for the second time ever...

Hopefully the three weeks will fly by!

my m/s went at around 9 weeks and like paws I just woke up and it was gone. I stressed as well, and if I remember right, I was only just 12 weeks when I went for my scan. Given the emotions you are having though I would say you are fine (they all sound very familar!)
