.. I got a BFP yesterday morn! Eek.
AF is extremely regular with me and I started spotting 2 days ago but icky brown stuff (sorry if thats TMI) and I thought that was weird, I never get that at the start of AF. So the next morning I took the test. It was really faint but still there! (AF isn't actually due for a couple of days).. so it's likely that my spotting is implantation.
I've been to the docs, I am getting bloods done to confirm it whenever Daniel wakes up from his nap.
DH and I aren't especially happy yet. I've been on a number of different meds this month.. prescription anti-inflammatorys, sleeping pills and the biggy was canestan for thrush. The doc said that canestan is the big worry out of my meds. It's unlikely it would cause anything as it was only one dose but it could cause limb deformities.
I'm not anti-abortion but since having Daniel it makes that thought so much harder. But then the other thought that I have is what if this child does have something wrong with it, can I deal with that guilt?
I don't know if I want opinions. I just wanted to rant a bit.

Wow Congratulations!
I would tell you not to worry but you're bound to no matter what! The joys of pregnancy again Hopefully the Dr can help reassure you a bit. Have you looked into a bit yourself?

No, I'm not going near google. Google is evil. I'd rather have advice straight from a doctor than torture myself researching it.

Good thinking! I was going to say have you googled it but then thought better of it. You have more restraint than I would- I would be torturing away in a right state by now!
Let us know what he says- like I said, hopefully he can reassure you a bit

I know that google has some good info but it also has a lot of false information on it too and it's hard to weed out the correct from incorrect so I'd rather not read stuff that I'm not sure is true. DH on the other hand I'm sure won't have that type of restraint.
It's a pity I can't get the results from the bloods immediately. Because by the time that Daniel wakes up and I get down there I won't get to hear until tomorrow. Because AF isn't actually due yet I'm still semi paranoid that I'm stressing myself out over nothing even if I did get a BFP.

It's no one's place to put their opinions on you Stacey. All I'll say is that I hope it works out for the best, whatever the best is for you and your family.
And ... err ... you might have to go a bit easy on the treadmill!!

I had minor surgery while unknowingly pregnant with Kiya... it involved being knocked out under general and a weeks worth of heavy-duty pain killers (I also rolled a car a week earlier, and went on a major bender right at the start of the pregnancy) and she's fine if a bit too bright for her own good.
Big hugs, and congratulations.

Congratulations, does that mean you will be in the october mummies with me? or will you be in nov?
When I was having ov pain and trying to concieve the doc said it was ok to take meds up until I knew I was pg, I've also heard that until implantation they are pretty unaffected by anthing you do or take (not sure how true that is though). Good luck at the docs, I know how you feel about not getting excited we are stuck in limbo land as well at the moment.

Oh congrats! I thought oops I did it again meant you had bought another treadmill or the likes
Try not to worry about the meds.....I'm sure a heck of a lot of babies are conceived in a shroud of booze and pills and they turn out ok....natures good like that.
Hope you have a plain sailing 8-9 momths.

Oh wow congrats Stacey!! Thats a hard situation your in...Im sure everything will be ok though, there are heaps of ladies who dont find out they are pregnant until half way thru etc and go on to have healthy bubba's, I guess just see what your doctor says, i agree with you that google is evil, i worried myself sick with googling bleeding etc when i started bleeding this pregnancy at 6 weeks!
Congrats again and good luck with the doctors and stuff **hugs**

Well, we have decided we aren't going near abortion. So will wait and see what my bloods say tomorrow. And my doc wants me to have an early scan in a few weeks providing I don't miscarry or anything.

Congrats Stacey! For what it's worth I had surgery to drain an abscess in my arm before I knew I was preg with Maya so she was exposed to x-rays, general anaesthetic, IV antibiotics and oral antibiotics, neither of which were recommended during pregnancy, plus a heap of nasty painkillers and she's just fine. I did worry a lot to start with, but then the district nurse that did my dressing said that if the drugs etc. had affected baby it would likely miscarry anyway so I tried to focus on the fact that as long as she tuck in there she'd be ok.

If I say that I'm sure it's probably a veeeeery slim chance anything goes wrong and you'll be fine, does that count as an opinion?
Soooo... congratulations?
