Is my boy special or are there others out there?

2 Days after my boy turns 1 (may) i will be going for 2 1/2 weeks overseas......... to make it easier for him and me, last week and 2 weeks ago we have left him for 2 nights with his nannie and poppie...........he doesnt seems to even care.........when i go to pick him up he looks at me as if....'who the heck are you' Has he forgotten about me? or does he just not give a s'it? i know its not a bad thing cause ill worry about him less knowing he doesnt care......but i kinda expect him to be all excited when i get back from overseas..........i really hope he doesnt start screaming and not come to me when i see him cause that will make me upset. He is a very 'man' boy and is very independent but i thought all babies when threw a clingie , i want my mummie stage....or has he missed this?

Not all babies go through all stages and some go through things at different times.

My dd is very happy to go to her Nana and Poppa's and often wants to stay when I go to pick her up. I think they act indifferent / like they don't want to see us as they are grumpy with us for leaving them. Elle used to poke her bottom lip out all the way home. Now she is in a new phase and is always happy to be dropped off but equally happy to be picked up. She waves bye to me when I drop her off and when I arrive to pick her up takes my hand and waves bye to her Nana.

Elle only had 1 week of separaton anxiety and that was at about 17mths.

Hugs!

Hannah has always been fine leaving me. When I was studying she went up to stay with my mum quite a few times.

I however, seem to be a mess when we are apart!! It wasn't so bad when I was busy studying, but I went on holiday with my boyfriend in November for a week and I got a huge case of separation anxiety! Not cool. Now I wouldn't go away without her again... too much stress!!

Ella is pretty good - she stays with Grannie all the time and could care less about us being there or not...and funnily didnt care when grannie went away last week.

She had aunty babysit her on fri nite for first time to feed and put her to bed and she was great for her.

WE are off to raro in a few months for a week and she is staying with grannie then too!

She does a mummy "special" at daycare when i arrive tho - involves tears and screaming like i have been away for months...bet i dont get that when i get back from raro!

Taine never used to really care who he was with UNTIL he started daycare and suddenly he's a real mummy's boy. This was only about four months ago

Rhyley since about 3 weeks ago (when he got little sick) has been a mummy's boy thru and thru. He even says Mummeeee so clearly now LOL (guess thats a bonus). Rhyley is 15 months old. he still is happy to go to his nan and pops who hes sees regular though and after one night hasn't forgotten me I have not left him any longer though.

I was also the same time (3 weeks ago) he got stranger danger.

Andrew often hates it when I pick him up from his grandparents or from preschool. Josh is happy for me to leave him at Daycare and is really happy when I get there.

Trust me they never forget who you are.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Apparently Sam wanders around going 'mummummummumummumumumumumum' when I'm not at home, which isn't often (we are living with her at the moment) but when I get home and pick him up he couldn't care less that I'm there and he still wanders around going 'mumumumumumumumumumum'.

He cries when nana leaves the room but not if I do and he is happy to be around other people and doesn't really even seem to notice if I'm not there.
