I know! I couldn't believe that a KG of anchor cheese was nearly $14 at Countdown yesterday! And we go thru a KG of block cheese and 500g of grated cheese a week  -------------  Maya Grace (28/02/03)

Yep it is mighty expensive now we go through a block of butter in about 2 weeks because I bake all our treats but it's starting to get cheaper to buy everything like that already made. Argh I know!!! I just did my shopping now and was so very reluctant to pay $5 for 500g of butter

It's starting to have a roll down affect as well. same here but I'm still trying to get over the price of soy milk - $2.79 for 1 litre and 300g of soy yogurt is $4

I know, I complain about it all the time. We used to go through 1kg cheese every week or so, now the brand we used to buy in 1kg is only 800g for the same price! How rude! And they don't make a bigger size either!
Butter is about $4 for a block now, used to be on average $1.89. I am not baking as much as usual because it's been too hot, but I imagine I will be when the weather gets cooler. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Toni I know! Every second month here, new world has so good on special 2 for $5, so we stock up then - but thats still $5 for 2 litres of milk. Most of the time I try and go for the specials, but holy moly even on special 1kg of cheese is at least $10. I work in the food industry and even wholesale we pay $3 at the very least for butter (and you should see how much we go through!).
Groceries on the whole have gone up, this time last year I was spending $120-$130 on the average shop, now I am spending $150 plus every shop. Shaz - I used to buy the $5 for 3 loaves of bread, and it seem to (in one week) go from that to $4.50 for 2.
