He is in a safety sleep because of this and we put it on just loose enough so he cant get out but it will stop him from turning all night and standing up............anybody elses baby do this..........i really want to stop using it as he is getting older and its hard to get it dry without a dryer he only started using the saftysleep when he was 8mnths...........and without it on he turns around all night.....which means i cant sleep cause i can hear him (im in another room) and then he freezes cause he doesnt have any blankets on............how do you stop him or will he grow out of it..........grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I've had this problem with lucas since 6 months, had never used a wedge or Safe T Sleep ...Wrapped him up until about 4 months when he figured how to escape!. I've just invested in a sleepsack/sleeping bag for all seasons, from Baby factory $24.95. Apparently they minimize movement (i'd imagine it's hard to stand up in them?? and rolling wouldn't be as easy) ..and they keep bubs warm since they won't stay under the blankets. Lucas HATES having sheets over him now, and its hard to settle him as he walks around the cot screaming and banging for attention.

I'm starting tough love, I can't handle anymore sleepless nights! But yeah thought I'd mention the sleeping bags as I'm holding onto hope that this is the answer to our problems.

I have just started taking Ella out of her safe T sleep, as she was rolling onto her tummy in it but couldn't get back. Now I just let her roam all over her cot and she falls asleep in whatever position she ends up in. I also use a sleeping bag for her....I haven't found that it restricts her movement as she still manages to crawl and stand up, but at least I know she will be warm enough.

They can stand in them? Bugger ...

Just washed ours and planning on using it for the first time ...mum2ella you burst my bubble there LOL

Lucas could self settle when he wasn't at the walking/crawling/standing stage ...now its just a nightmare! I don't like controlled crying either ...argh

I would also recommend the sleeping bag. We use the GoGo bay for Samantha and it is a God send!   She can stand up in it also, but just basically sleeps where she falls. LOL   It is more about making sure she is warm enough though, otherwise we get her waking up around 4am when the temperature drops.

Mum2Lucas, isn't this age a pain in the neck!! No one tells you how hard it is to get them to sleep when they can stand up in the cot!! I have to almost make sure Sam is dead tired before I can put her to bed so that she sleeps. (There quite often is a wee tantrum and a bit of a cry before she actually sleeps though).

sleepings bags are excellent luke can still roll around, move and crawl the lenght of the cot, sit up and stand... But it doesn't matter because when he's tired he falls asleep any way he wants in any part of the cot. I used to go in and move him to be on his back facing the right way.

But not any more he sleeps how ever he wnats and as long as he's sleeping and safe it's o.k by me
and hes warm and happy all night..

well it seems like this is a common thing.....thank goodness :) do they actually grow out of it?.......cause there is no way i can put him in the bed if he keeps doing this.

hehehe.. well.. some do! my 4.5yr old is regularly back to front/upside down in his bed! and the odd times we hear the 'bang' if he falls out! ;) he's an 'active' sleeper, just like his dad.
Tyde has been in his peke moe for over 6months.. same as the others, he can stand up, move around his cot etc, but is always covered and warm!!! (even his hands!!!) He is just over 1 and still back to front, upside down all over his cot anytime I check on him.. but he does sleep ALL night! I don't hear from him from 6.30pm till about 7am! :) thank you god! ;) (Reef was NEVER like that, and still isn't! hehehe)
