if Joey isn't getting enough milk? He is feeding more often lately and wakes up really often at night too....

I can't remember how much Ella was eating at that age but it sounds like it might be a growth spurt? How long has it been happening? as they usually last a week (but sometimes Ella lasted 2).. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Hey Ana, I have a similar problem with the feeding, however Bailey is on Solids 2x a day! he is also having formula aswell!
maybe try joey on solids 2x a day - Breakfast and dinner? GoodLuck |

Im witht he adding a solids feed as well. I've been going through this for the last few months too. Good luck! Thinking of you!!!

i was going to say growth spurt as well - once they get past that little stage its easy to forget they still go through spurts every now and then and about 5 - 6 months of ages is when another one happens - can remember you had same worries a while back before starting solids at 3 months and things seemed to iron themselves out alright - so will give the same advice as last time - hang in there, stick it out for a week or so more and then take things from there. ------------- Janine and her 2 cool chicks, Paris & Ayja

Also could be the heat. They need lots more feeds when it is really hot. I remember feeding Hannah constantly this time last year and it really felt like I had no milk left. Took a couple of days to catch up with the extra drinking.
Maybe try some water in a bottle as well, maybe mid-afternoon? |

I have been giving Joey water for a while now already  I might try adding another solid feed as last night he ate a whole jar of babyfood  then still had milk and woke at 11pm for another drink..... (and at 4...) But this waking has been going on since just before xmas so i don't think it can be a growth spurt.

Hey ana,
I'd recommend adding another solid feed and see how he goes, Summer went on to three solid feeds fairly quickly within a few weeks of starting them and seemed a lot happier. He could also be comfort sucking as everyone says, with the disruption from routine. Is he still putting on weight ok? |

yep though not as fast as he was which is probably a good thing. We are on to day 3 of 2 x solids and he has slept really well the last 2 nights and fed less during the day... seems happier too?? Hope tonight is good!!!  Thanks for your help guys! I was almost ready to put him onto formula. Hey ana, your not silly at all! Honestly there'll be so many times that you cant think whats wrong and someone else will point it out, something bout being a mum and a housewife and a partner, so much to think about and do sometimes its hard to see whats right under our noses!

definately - can always give advice but when a prob crops up ourselves - we need help - simply cos being so close to the situation sometimes clouds the 'mummy-judgement' a little - good to hear he's doing a bit better. ------------- Janine and her 2 cool chicks, Paris & Ayja
