Hi Ladies

I had my scan on tuesday and the lady said my placenta was anterior so it would be cusioning movements etc the last few days I have only really felt movements a few times when Ive been laying on my back or sitting for a while has anyone else got an anterior placenta and noticed a difference with fetal movements?

yes! My placenta has been at the front and its only been the last 2 - 3 weeks that I have felt movement I was so pleased to see my midwife at about 18 weeks and we listened to the heartbeat, as I was certain something was up as I couldnt feel any movement!
The scan also reassured me and now I feel movement a LOT!
Oh and definitely when I am sitting or sleeping does bub get active!

I had this with Sam as well. I only really felt movements when she got alot bigger or was kicking down. Sam was posterior as well.
I agree with Peachy, great for later on. Other people are complaining about the pain and you will sail through

i never have known any different than anterior..im going to get a fright if that isnt the case next time..i had quite a few movements but nothing really awful at all..so thats one advantage.. :) ! did freak me out when some days couldnt feel him as much (esp after the mc) but all in all it was a good thing...though they did tell me more babies end up posterier who have an anterior placenta.

Rhyley was an anterior placenta baby - i got alot bigger so much sooner with him and although he was my 3 baby it was much later I felt him kick and others found it hard to feel him kick too. As for labour though can't help you there (or reassure you) as rhyley was a ceasar baby being breeched, I am sure the anterior placenta had nothing to do with his breeched but it did in the fact he wouldn't of ever turned (even after an ECG) as it in the way.
