so yesterday Megan wakes at 9:15am and has her first feed for the day at 9:30am (she went to bed around 6:30pm which is her normal bedtime now)and then had a feed around 1pm then another at about 4:30pm then another around 6pm. then bed at 6:30pm

and again today she woke at around 9:15am first feed at 9:30am feed about 12:30pm.

so when did you baby decide to drop a feed. although in saying that I will need to get her up around 7am for a feed and back down around 8am to wake hopefully around 10:30am as I need to go out at 11am.

That's some great sleep!

Daniel didn't go down to 4 feeds until about 7-8 months!

I have just moved Luke over to formula and he is having 4 feeds a day (and 2 of solids...)

He sleeps 7-7am and has 225ml at 7am, 11ish, 4ish, 6.45. (Solids at 12pm and 5pm) He is doing really well with only 4 feeds (which I thought would not be enough, but seems to be)

Hmm I think she should still be on at least 5-6 feeds a day... morning, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, "witching hour if needed" and bedtime.

when Ella was that age she was having around 6 breastfeeds a day, moved to 4 feeds when she was approx 7 months and is still on 4 feeds.

15 hours is a bit long too sleep tho...glad bubs is sleeping through but poss growth spurt or about to get sick perhaps with a sleep that long?

Ten to twelve hours sleep and ella would wake up and be on me within minutes at that stage...

I pondered this last night and I agree with BS, 15hrs sleep is an extremely long time to go without food. We get approx 12hrs normally and when he wakes hes demanding food immediately but at her age it was more like 10hrs and 6 feeds per 24hrs.

yeah i was thinking about this later too and noted that there was two nights and when she woke there was 15 mins before she fed....can you perhaps go see the doc or plunket (i loathe to recommend them!) or your midwife etc to make sure bubs is ok? 15 hours is far too long esp when she isnt ravenous when she wakes.

hey just a note - I slept 15 hours from 5 weeks old - my mum worried about it for a while, but then realised that was just the way I was made up. I still need quite a bit of sleep now to function.

I do wonder if maybe you should try getting another feed into her, but as long as she is gaining weight/growing I would have thought she was alright...

Lauren is still on atleast 6- 7 feeds per day, sometimes 8, two solid meals per day and she sleeps around 10 hours at night!

Edited to add, I would probably try to get atleast one more feed into bubs especially as you are still b/f and breastmilk is much more easily and quickly digested!

Jake dropped to 4 milk feeds after starting 2x solids, I think he was close to or just 6 months. At that age he was still on 6-7 milk feeds/day.

My sisters bub is the same age and she can sleep from 7pm til 8 - 9am ... but she will still have 5 milk feeds during the day. And now that they've dropped the dreamfeed she wakes closer to 7am. It does sound like alot of sleep to me too, I would get her checked out.

I agree it seems a long sleep and too few feeds especially for a BF bub thats not into solids yet. Tom still has a BF in the morning and then 4 bottles of formula plus 3 large solid meals and he sleeps 12 hours.

I'd get it checked and if its all ok then be really thankful!!! you lucky thing!

i think the last couple of days were just once (for now) offs...usually she will wake around 7am (woke at 7:30am this morning and had feed then again at about 10:30am)...she seems to be pretty content she most likely will have 5-6 feeds today.
