I'm not really sure where to post this as I can't remember what I did with Gina.
Anyways, our little miricle #2 - Emma - arrived very much unexpectedly at 31wks gest on 14 March! She's in NICU and doing well but I'm still in huge shock. Birth was quite quick & easy - I was in denial for most of it - so I've been home since yesterday.
Will update more later when the shock has worn off a little

Big congrats to you, hope you manage to get some good rest for the long haul ahead and hope your wee girl is doing ok.   Do you have good family support to look after Gina so you can spend time in the NICU? It may seem ages away now but the next 9 weeks will fly by once she gets going.

hugest congrats, I had my wee girl at 30 weeks gest and second what Janine said about having support so you can spend some quality time at the neo unit, I also had a 2.5 year old at the time so was quite hard..... we brought our darling girl home 6 weeks after she was born so still before her due date by 4 weeks was very weird.

Thanks everyone!
I'm doing well - both mum & gran are helping looking after Gina and I seem to be going to hospital most of the time. I'm still in shock. Emma is doing well considering she's so so early. She's a good size but my dates were def right (I had a scan when I was only 6wks or so to confirm them) and she's def behaving like a 31wk gest baby.
I'm trying to get my milk going at the moment and just keeping busy, hoping the next few weeks will fly so we can bring Emma home

Thanks again everyone!
She'll be at NICU for at least a month at this stage as she's so so early and the reality of it is slowly kicking in. I'm back to expressing and trying to build up my milk so hence up at 2am - had forgotten that one!
Her birth was (relatively) quick & easy so I'm recovering well. She's just under 2kg and 48cm long so looks terribly long and very skinny and of course she's gorgeous (if I say so myself). Don't have many photos at the moment as it's so difficult to photograph her but will try to post something soon.
Thanks for the well wishes

Hey congrats, how are things? Did you expect such an early arrival after Gina was early? How much licorace did you eat this time as I am sure in that we were both similar in our consumption and early births of Gina and Fay last year. How is the expressing going this time?

Take care and catch up soon.
Emma is a lovely name

I didn't touch any licorice this time even when I had a craving for some. Emma's early arrival was a shock - I was sure she was to stay put until I was 38 weeks at least - well wishful thinking
I'm taking Domperidone for the milk and it's going well - she's already drinking it and is on my milk only so it's all good.
How is Fay doing?

Fay is doing good, she's a cute wee thing,
We were coming round to the idea of no. 2 but your extreme surprise has kinda shaken the idea that Fay's early arrival was just one of those things. Any clues as to why Emma was soo early? Good to hear she is taking your milk so well, are you able to feed her yourself or I guess you have to wait until her suckle reflex is fixed. Hard work that expressing, so I am thinking of you for that. Bet you never thought you would be back on that bike again
Take care

No that's true - I thought I'd b'feed this time around but it's looking doubtful to say the least. Oh well, at least I've done it before so I know what's involved.
No clue at the moment as to what went wrong, apperantly samples taken off the placenta etc can take up to 2 months to give a result
I did have some sort of food poisoning the day my labour started and it seems that could have triggered something and started things. However, when I spoke to mw that day re: not feeling well she wasn't really worried and never mentioned I could go into labour. It was a shock to her as it was to us.
I too had put down Gina being early as one of those things but not sure any more.

Sometimes these things just happen, I never really got any definate answers as to why Kobe was early, there were lots of theories and it did my head in trying to find out why but in the end I came to the conclusion it didnt really matter, he was here and he was healthy. It just meant that the next pregnancy I thought I might go early aswell but no...Addison had to be evicted.
