Lucas is fast asleep, but breathing very heavily tonight. Could this mean he's caught the cold I have? If not, what could this mean? ....he's V. noisy, almost chesty sounding.

Quite possibly he has. If he wakes during the night, maybe put some phone books under his mattress so he's laying slightly up. That should help him out a little.

try putting eucalyptus on a tissue and put it on side where he sleeps under the fitted sheet....you might find he breathes a lot better with that - it works for ella when she is congested
