Another forum member gave me a link, thinking that what I have gone through could possibly be a Chemical Pregnancy. I read the info, and I feel this may be whats happening.

I couldn't find anything on a search in OhBaby.

I am wondering if any ladies would mind sharing their story's if they have suffered this.

I think my mc in dec was one, and I'm having another one now too, I am pretty sure!

So if you could say how many you had, and also if you knew at the time. And if you had any treatment. Then also if you went on to have a successful pregnancy.

Thankyou for sharing!
PS..I have also put this in the TTC forum, and wasn't too sure if ppl still look over there once preggy! lol

Hi Nefrititi, what exactly is a chemical pregnancy? I thought it was when sperm and egg get together so you have conceived and can get a BFP but they dont embed therefore the pregnancy doesnt continue.

Hi nzpiper, i am pretty sure what you described is right. If you remember I got that bfp the other day.
Then the next day I tested and it was negative (twice). With same type of tests. And then after that I gradually started bleeding. I think I was preg because the bleeding started clotting. Tapered off a bit last night.

yeah, I read somewhere that you can get a BFP and then get your AF af ew days later because it doesnt embed. I call that your body being very mean to you!

I think I am going through something similar at the moment and if I hadnt got a BFP I would just be sitting here cursing my AF.

Its a pretty deflating thing to happen. As I also think this is what happened to me a few days before xmas.
I have heard of ppl taking baby aspirin to try and prevent this from happening, but thats on an overseas forum, so would like to hear from good ole kiwi mums to see what things they have done.

I'm going to make appt to see the doc in the next couple weeks.
The one thing that I have read consistently is that AF would usually arrive after you expect it. But for me this time, it came a few days earlier.

I was talking to my mum the other day about my miscarriage and she said in her day you didn't see a doc till you had missed three periods and if you came on late that is all you thought it was. But then she said they also didn't track cycles etc you just waited till you had missed 3 periods.

I think in someways it is better to know because if you didn't and there was an underlying problem you could go on for years and get no answers.

I know, it reminded me of DH telling me to wait until I get fat instead of keep using pee tests!!!

there is some logic in that though isnt there. Doc doesnt see any point in doing further tests at this stage as they are likely to be inconclusive. We are assuming it is a MC....I guess if in 8 months time I am looking really fat....we will know it wasnt
