There is the Otara market in South Auckland. It is easier if you get there early as it can get quite packed.
Can't think of any others sorry.

Not that I can think of. Most of them are on Sundays. Like the Farmers markets etc. Isn't the Otara Markets on Sunday though?

I don't think he needs to worry, all kinds of different people go to the Otara markets.

omg lol @ Otara.. Its the most placid place i've ever been to. It has such a stigma about being rough etc - Try living in Manurewa. They'll steal your wheels off your car while you're driving ;)

That is the great thing about Auckland, it doesn't matter what you look like no one will look twice at you.
When we lived in CHCH we could not go out without trouble! Never caused by us either! My DH is tall dark and handsome lol

Don't tell me that!! BHB is supposed to be quiet and full of old people! lol!
And Otara market is cool, and your hubby will be fine. Most people are really really friendly there, but I wouldn't hang out there at night!

Hell no! The whole of South Auckland scares me these days and I used to BE a gang banger!
Willie goes to the Avondale markets every few weeks, he fits right in with the wide cultural mix there

haha! The otara markets are great for fresh fruit/veg and funny t shirts etc, Chris is part samoan and so loves going there for a feed too
The Aotea square markets are really cool, food stalls and the AUT student designers etc do clothing, you can pick up one offs really cheap all sorts of stuff there, I rate it, you can park at the civic car park for about 5 dollars or so.
Hope you have fun up here!
