I have been sent our daycare bill as WINZ isn't paying for Andrew's daycare from October to February as the review form was not sent in. It was sent I know it was sent but they have "lost" it. On the bill it says that if not paid in 7 days legal action will be taken. However there is no invoice number on the "bill" is this a problem?? Also I feel it is their fault that they didn't pick on up the fact that WINZ wasn't paying Andrew's subsidy until February well over 3 months so the debt is huge and I can't afford to pay for it all in one go. Also another problem I have is that their policy is to send a letter out with confirmation of enrolment and the bill for the first weeks for Josh we never received this can I do anything about this? I was just going to PM someone with the questions but I thought to start with i'll just put it here.

I would talk to the daycare and see if you can come to some arrangement about payment.

I work in accounts and send out those kind of letters/reminders all the time, legal action is expensive and often a last resort, if they know you are prepared to pay then they can be more accommodating to your situation.

yeah I would just say you are going to start paying it off say at $10 a week or something. I'm sure they will be OK with it if you are actually paying not just beating around the bush.

Are WINZ going to back pay? If they are you might be able to make some sort of agreement to just wait for WINZ to pay (the fact you are entitled to subsidy suggests that you can't afford full price anyway? )

I'll be making a lump payment on Monday as mum and dad are sending me a cheque over to help me out.

Nope WINZ say that coz I didn't send the form in they aren't going to backpay as it is past their 3 months that you can fill in some form if you don't agree.

that sucks Becks. Hey, my review got lost too. i made a formal complaint and the manager rang immediately and it was miraceously found. not saying it will work in your case, but make a formal complaint over it.

Good luck becks
As RachandJack said, I'm sure the centre will be happy with you paying them back a small amount each week. My boss at the centre where I am employed is always hapy with that arrangement.
What a real pain though with WINZ.
