Not in Wellington, but I bought Maya the coolest bedroom set for her birthday. It's off Trade Me, this lady hand paints them, called Giddy Giraffe and it is the most gorgeous stuff! I got her a book case, set of drawers and a bedside table for $435 so I was pretty stoked. We pick them up next week so will add a pic then

But sorry I can't help with Wellington Jess

There should be people in Wellington that do a similar type of thing... have you checked trade me???

Or you could get some plain ones and paint yourself (depending if you can be bothered!)

I went around the second hand shops for a few weeks until I found some drawers for Ella's room, then I bought some resene test pots with the 2 for 1 (now 3 for 2 or something :P) vouchers on the back of the shopping receipts.. they worked out really well if I do say so myself.

I'll try and post a pic if I can remember, but it's not difficult to do at all.. and it only cost me about $30 all up :)

Hey Meow, how much paint did it take to paint the drawers? I am going to paint Maya's old drawers to match (bought them when I was preg and always intended to paint them, now that she's three I might get around to it!) but I don't know how much I need? I know what the colors are tho, the lady who painted the furniture I bought told me.

I bought two of each colour and I think that was ok - but at a stretch.. so maybe you should buy three of each (you have to buy 3 for the price of two now anyway) so it will cost $16 for the paint ($4 each). Also if you have some left over you can touch them up later when/if they get scratched.
I did two coats of paint.

Jezsika - thanks I know another Ella Rose in our PIN group, and online I know an Ella Grace hehe :)

Thanks for that. Am off to buy some Double Spanish white High Gloss water-based enamel and some Shocking High Gloss water-based enamel. That is complete gibberish to me, but apparently what I need.

Jess! Is there a Target in Wellington? They have unpainted (mdf?) furniture, drawers etc, you could buy and then go home to paint your own originals!! That is what I have done for Quinn room, and I think it looks pretty flash!!

LMAO Ana and Lena! We can't all be good at everything! Seriously tho, how lucky am I to get paid to be a know-it-all? Good thing I'm not a painter, wouldn't make much money with my skills there..

Maybe you should see if you can do an interior design course to get extra credits maybe? Saves you doing PR...

There isn't much too it I'm creative in other things but not painting!

I found a few stencils I liked on the internet, and enlarged them in illustrator then printed them off, cut them out with a craft knife then painted over them. That's all there is to it :)

Those are cool drawers, my sis is in the middle of painting some winnie the pooh ones for Xanda, I decided to let her do it instead of me since she's the artist out of us. I could guarantee that winnie the pooh wld not look like he suppose to if i painted them myself.
