Hi everyone, it was my first month using OPK's and I'm just trying to work out what things mean. I started using them on day 11 or 12 and got either really faint or no line (apart from the control). On day 15 (saturday) I wasn't home all day so wasn't able to test and then day 16 and 17 I got darkish lines but lighter than the control and then today absolutely nothing.

From experience what would most most likely day of ovulation have been? I was guessing I missed it on saturday but not sure. I also temped and sunday morning was a late test which was high but then the last few days have been similar to the rest of the week (though saturday was quite low)and no lines have appeared yet on FF.

What do you reckon?

What time of the day are you using them? I find I miss ovulation if I don't test at 2-3pm, which is where I've been going wrong the first couple of months.

Not till about 6pm when I get home from work. Do you do it at work? I guess I could do it in the bathroom there! Is it most likely it was during one of those 3 days do you think?

I normally use OPKS twice a day now as it's easy to miss your LH surge I think. 2-3pm is a good time if you're doing ti once, for me, I do do 10-11am then again 3-4pm. But it's probably different for everyone. WIth regards to the crosshairs on FF, I *think* you need at least 3 temps that are higher than the highest in your pre-ov range? or something similar lol. I'm on CD19 and don't have my crosshairs yet, but should get them tomorrow as long as my temps stay nice and high.

Good luck, it's all a bit confusing to start but you settle into knowing what works best for you quite quickly

yes, just started that too - just got a red line today which says monday so I guess I'll just go with that for now. Perhaps the surge was monday afternoon in between the two dark patches.

Ahh I see, I forgot that, so a positive OPK just means I'm nearly ovulating. So the temps etc seem to match. Cool, I'll just wait and see then :)
