Tom wheezes. Imagine breathing out completely so you have nothing left in your lungs (like doing those tests where you blow into a tube). Thats how he sounds, like he has breathed out everything.

It doesnt slow him down one little bit. Or maybe it does and we just think he is busy enough as he is. He eats well, sleeps well (apart from today) and this wheezing has been going on for a couple of weeks (that I have noticed).

Do you think I should be worrrying....obviously I am starting to worry. Cant get into Doc till Monday.

Sometimes he sounds rattly. He had a very very minor cold about 2-3 weeks ago....nothing more than a runny nose and a bit snuffly. Thats it.

My concern is my mothers family are asthmatic and DH gets hayfever so I am thinking he could get allergies.

I did take him to the doc when he had his cold but naturally the breathing was totally normal at the docs.

Should I try and get him squeezed in urgently? or wait and see how he goes over the weekend?

hey nikki, could it be related ot his recent cold? Ethan has an occasion dry cough since his cold & no other symptoms..

but if asthma is in the family it could be that or hayfever as your dh suffers from it.. those were the 2 things I was going to suggest.. if he doesn't seem unhappy or sick & it's not slowing him down like you say then I would see how he goes over the weekend..

but not telling you what to do - it's your choice as you're his mummy

keep us posted how he's going

Samara has been wheezy but we have worked out it is from her milk allergy. When we didn't know she had it I was eating lots of dairy and that is when it came on.

I have asthma and allergies as well but since I've stopped eating dairy she hasn't been wheezy at all.

Just an idea??

Thanks Kim....but I only feed him in the morning now. The rest of the time hes on formula...mind you that could be it.

Just went to Docs and he is happy that nothing is wrong and thinks its just left over from his cold....like you said justme. He feels that if Tom had even the slightest respiratory problem he would not be throwing himslef round the place like the crazy little maniac he is. So thats reassuring.

Hey there, not to scare you, but Ava had wheezing a few weeks ago, I took her to the docs and she had a chest infection, he put her on antibiotics and it cleared it up, I would say just keep an eye on him and take him back if it doesn't clear up!!

thanks babykiwi. Doc listened to his whole abdomen very carefully and said sounds all clear.

Mind you we have just had one VERY upset little boy but custard, pamol and bonjela seemed to work. I think that was a teething and no sleep ALL day combo!
