Has anyone else had these removed?
Did you feel/experience any symptoms which you think was connected to having them?
Did you have any large cysts in pregnancy? If so, did your GP follow them up and send you for a scan afterwards?
Long story short, I've had several bilateral cysts since 14/15yo! Went for various scans but they were never big enough to justify surgery for removal, and by the time the next scan would roll around they had disappeared & often new ones kept cropping up!
Then whilst pregnant I had a 'simple left adnexal' cyst (I believe thats what the sonographer referred to it as) ...it was 7cm or so in diameter and was noted at all my scans! After giving birth I was experiencing cramping and nausea for quite some months, went to my GP and she told me it definitely couldn't be related to the cyst and that it was normal to feel like this after giving birth -so do you women agree that you felt the same way after birth? Woke up feeling yuck everyday?
Well now, 12 months down the track ...I am waking up to severe cramping daily, Irritable bowel syndrome, fluttering and movements in my stomach like there is something moving around in there , bloating (and when I say bloating I mean to the point where I actually look 9 months preg and have been asked by a few strangers where bub is due ), constant heartburn (on top of chronic tonsilitis that keeps flaring up), nausea and last but certainly not least - when I'm lying down or on my side ...even standing up, my stomach will often morph and I have a HUGE HARD LUMP sticking out to the right side (my right) ...I push on it to feel around ...its painful, and after 30 secs or so my tummy goes back to normal. Some days I am very lethargic also hence why we barely get out and about anymore ...I just don't feel physically up to it most days!
Has anyone ever experienced similar symptoms - any idea what this could be?
I'M DEFINITELY NOT PREGNANT ...last time I had sex would have been around the time Lucas was conceived and I am without partner ...so that it totally out of question!
I know I should head to my DR asap instead of searching for answers, but i'm procrastinating ...and need to wait till thursday as I have no money! I am worried it is something I don't want to hear about OR she will turn around and tell me I'm a hypochondriac & imagining all my symptoms.
Am I in my right to request full bloods & tests to be done when I'm paying for a consultation with my GP? (expensive consultation at that...EVEN WITH my community services card) I'm scared I will walk away as per usual with no answers ...I don't know how much more I can take

OK I have them (well PCOS) and they grow and pop all the time . My gyne saw a few of them when he was taking out my endo and the nurse asked him if he was going to remove them and he said no as there would of been a risk of bleeding and he would of had to removed my ovary. As i;m getting my ovaries removed in a few years i'm not too worried about them, i'm kinda use to them now every month.
As for your dr yes you can. I did last week ask for some tests to be done and he got them done. I have quite a good relationship with our gp so that could be why I was able to. Can't harm to ask.

sounds like what a girl at work experienced and she has been diagnosed with IBS (irrital bowel syndrome). ihave had a cyst tumor in my fallion tube and a cyst in ovary when i was 16 which required surgery. it was very painful and did not go away, in fact the one that tumors was internally bleeding as well, it felt like a knive was being grided in my lower abdomal and groin on the side where it was... in the end they took the fallpian tube out but left the ovary (but presumed they took the cyst out) in one week they grew from the size of a golf ball to size of 2 golf balls....
sure my lil story had a lil advise in there !?

I have them too, they come and go but the only time I've ever had pain associated with them is during pregnancy.
But yes you are well within your rights to request a full blood panel and exam including ultrasound, and your doctor should be supportive of that given your symptoms.

Oh and no I've never had them removed, they seem to burst on their own, a few times they've seen "free adnexal fluid" which is fluid around the ovaries from burst cysts.

I've had the same as Emma, they come and go and burst on their own without me noticing anything untoward.
At the moment I have one on my right ovary and it is painful from time to time but Dr didn't seem to think it needed to come out, thank goodness!
I also have IBS which comes with all the symptoms you described. Nausea, cramping on one or both sides, hideous bloating, painful gas, reflux and heartburn, diarrhea or constipation... the list goes on!
I would go to the Dr if I were you though, the hard lump you describe sounds a bit odd and worth having checked out.
As Emma said, you're allowed to ask for bloods and any Dr worth their weight will listen to your concerns and check them out. Just make sure you're clear about what you want and if you feel like you're being fobbed off, keep voicing your concerns.
I asked for some blood tests when I went last week and the Dr I saw (not my regular GP) said they get told off for requesting "unnecessary" tests which is why some Drs are reluctant to do them. Bugger that though, if you feel you need tests you should get them! I don't feel guilty about it!
