I have a feeling that someone has put one on my PC and I can't say much here because I know it's being recorded.

Any advice?

I so don't need this.

Wow never knew there was such a thing! How would someone manage to put one on your computer ...and why would they do that?

My brother is a computer buff, I'll go and chat him up about it and see what he comes out with for you

To cut a long story short, it's a recent boyfriend who had access to my PC when I wasn't here.

We have broken up but he is bordering on being a bit strange now.

I feel awful writing this knowing that he might see it because he was/is a lovely guy, just besotted with me.

Renee, was just talking to my DH and he said something about getting Spybot search and destroy (free on the internet, just 'google' it). If its a virus version, this program will detect it and destroy the program. Hope that helps. How sucky!

Yeah, me and Sam are all good, his dad is coming over to make sure we're ok and I know that if it ever came down to it I can totally rely on him to be here when I need him.

Just not cool!

try CTRL ALT DELETE and bring up the task manager.. see if there are any processes running that look odd :)

Hey Renee,
I asked my DH who is also an IT professional and he recommended http://www.nod32.com - www.nod32.com You can download a free trial from that site. He said that its the one they use at work and the best one they've tried for anti-virus/spyware detection.
He also recommended spybot search and destroy as an alternative.
The other thing he suggested was to press control, alt, delete which will bring up your task manager, which shows everything you've got running on your computer. You can then Google anything which looks suspicious to find out what it is and then delete it.
Good luck hun, I'm glad Sam's dad is still looking out for you even though you've seperated xx

Aww Renee that sucks, and it's very creepy. What gave you the idea he'd put it on? And how can they read what you've typed?

If there is one, it will record every key she types, which is creepy as.
The only thing is he will need access to your PC to get what it has saved. Unless he is a IT pro, then he will have no clue how to have it set up to be sent to him.. If its even possible.

I wouldnt worry chick, as long as you dont let him near your PC he wont be able to get it if he does have it on there.

But the CTRL ALT DLT is a good one, it brings up whats processing.

Yeah he is an IT pro and everything was sent to him as he was confronting me about private conversations I'd had ages after he had gone and he hadn't been around.

I asked him if he had put it there and he said that he had done it and it was only because he didn't trust me and that he thought I was out sleeping with lots of people (not sure how one is supposed to do that with a baby and no car).

I MADE him come over and remove it. I watched him get rid of it, so hopefully it's gone now.

Still creepy!

Thanks everyone.
