Ok so a bit of a strange question but I've always wondered, can you teach yourself to sing- without having to go to the expense of paying for singing lessons?
And when I say sing, I don't mean just holding a tune, I mean belting one out! Or do you need to have some kind of a half-decent voice to begin with? I've always wanted to learn how to sing & most of all I'd love to teach Lucas how to sing. Would be something we could do together. And how would I go about teaching myself? Are there programs available or maybe something online? TIA ------------- Single Mum to a darling wee boy of 3 years :) |

If you have a tuning meter you would be able to see how in tune you are, from there you just do exercises each day to build your volume up and confidence. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

I can sing thou I keep that a secret so they don't make me sing at band. I play Eb Horn for Feilding Brass, but I can play most brass instruments, violin, piano and percussion. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

I can sing.. infact most people tell me to shut up as I'm like a human juke box  LOL
Get a playstation and buy singstar LOL it's great for getting the tunes/melody etc but not so good for tone as I found out when I was playing with my 10 year old step daughter LOL she's good at the words, but her tone is shocking to say the least -------------

I'm a music teacher and of the opinion that everyone can sing! So many people say they're tone deaf when really only a tiny proportion of people actually are. It's all about having enough control over your voice to get it in tune! Although I wouldn't actually call myself a singer, I've picked up a lot of vocal technique just from being in choirs. The key things are breathing, support and an open throat - I'm sure if you did a google search you could come up with some exercises for these things. I'm a horn player like mummy_becks and the breathing is pretty much the same no matter if you sing or play a wind instrument.
