I know this sounds strange because everyone does it but... my grandma informed me that it was bad luck to buy baby clothes before the baby was born (it is okay for people to give them to you though). My aunty told me when I was preg with Maya that it was bad luck to buy anything at all for baby before it was born. I decided that I would rather risk an old wives tale than have a baby and bring it home with nothing to wear and nowhere to sleep 
I have a 'tradition' of sorts - the day I found out I was preg with Maya I went out and bought a little outfit, I did the same with the baby we lost and with this pregnancy too. I don't think that's why I miscarried last time tho! -------------  Maya Grace (28/02/03)

i have also heard that its bad luck to name a child before its born.
i normally get a few names together and then wait until i see baby before naming it... as for buying things before baby is born.... havent heard that one, i think its good to be prepared for baby in advance with certain things, but i dont tend to buy things until after at least the first 12 weeks. the 20 week scan will prob be when i feel ready to buy something! |

Maya was named long before she was born. Funny thing is that I am soooo superstitious about everything in general (birds in the house, lilies, black cats etc. etc.) and yet none of those pregnancy ones seem to bother me. ------------- Maya Grace (28/02/03)
