I have borrowed this idea from another website, but there are a few people that would like support to lose weight but without having to reveal weights etc.
So I thought that I would start this thread to help people in this situation.
We could start a Oh Baby weight loss club, if there isn't one already....
We could select a person to be a weight loss co-ordinator. If you wanted your weight recorded by someone, they do this and be the go to person.
How does that sound!?

The idea of measurements and weights is great, sometimes you might not lose weight but your measurements might change!
Great to have so many people come on board!
How would you all like to do this? I would be happy to keep track of all the measurements and weights...
We could nominate a day to do the measuring and the weights...

Ok, maybe Im in too. Just started going to the gym but I am not wanting to jump on scales as I know I will focus on that and get disheartened. In fact I am not measuring ANYTHING.....just lets see how it goes.
So that makes it tricky huh?
But I need the support. Maybe I will tell you how many times I have been to gym.

PM me with your forum name and your start weight/start measurements if you want to do this, then every Friday PM me your new weight/measurements, I will collate them and post the weekly winner on this thread.
We will use this thread as a support group, sharing hints and tips, recipes and any other pearls of wisdom.
For those who aren't doing the weight or measurements PM me with how many times you exercise etc and I'll keep on top it for you!

Ok um.. not overweight, but nearly there (I think BMI of 24?) and while I don't seem to gain it, don't seem to loose it either I could definately stand to lose 10-15kgs. (75 atm)
Would measurement just be waist? We don't have a set of scales here!

Usually with the measurements you would measure your bust, waist and hips. Some people also measure their thighs and upper arms, it's a matter of personal choice. I would advise do whatever you feel comfortable with.
For those that are doing the weight and/or measurement PM me by Wednesday so that I can get the spreadsheet set up, Thanks!

Right folks, today is my official start day (well, in the other website) but I thought I would post in here to get you all started....

I'll keep you posted on my progress!
Best of luck!

Gulp here goes then- my start weight was 87kgs (as of the 9th of April) and my weigh ins are on a Wednesday. In the 2 weeks I have been doing it I have lost 4.8kgs- so as of the Wed just been I am down to 82.2kgs. They put my goal weight at 65kgs and I should hopefully reach that by my final weigh in on the 9th of July

Well done on your weight loss so far!
It is hard to put yourself out there but I think you need too in order to be completely honest with yourself! By doing it this way you are putting yourself out there and it's then not only yourself that you let down, if you don't lose weight, it's the people that support you too!
|

Date Posted: 28 April 2008 at 9:05am
Yeah totally! With the programme I am doing we have group meetings and we go through the whole process with the same group of people- its so motivating You want to keep losing to feel a part of the group and also your competitive streak comes out too My big thing is that I want to get my BMI down, at my start weight it was 32 and now its already down to 30 (so I am now only overweight not OBESE! ) and my goal is 23 so I'm in the healthy weight range for my height. For me thats a big motivating factor!

When you go for the chocie or whatever naughty food, tell yourself to have a small drink of water and wait 10 mins. If you still want it really bad then have it. It's what I do.. usually after 10 mins Daniel is doing something and I've forgotten about it

Kellverona, welcome!! Feel free
Like Kebakat said, have a drink of water and wait 10-15mins.
Most of the time it's boredom, when you feel like eating distract yourself by doing something else. You could try brushing your teeth, that way you won't like the taste!

I am keen to join too! I have already lost 7.1kg's in the past 8 weeks. I have been doing WW Core Plan. This past weekend I went on a bit of a food bender (whoops), so not sure how the scales are going to look tomorrow morning at my weigh in!
So my stats, I will start from when I first went on WW:
Start weight 8 weeks ago: 79.5kg
Weight as of weigh in last Wedneday: 72.4kg
Goal weight was going to be 70kg, but I am hoping to get down to around 68kg.
Exercise for today: one hour walk this morning and soccer training tonight for an hour and a half.

I want to get to 65 kgs - I weighed 66.4kgs today at works weigh in day -biggest loser challenge (i was 74.6kgs last november so have done well) but feel now is 65kg 'slim' enough - I still feel bloated etc... and have major fat days - now I know weight wise i am sure you might scoff at 'fat' days but I do my belly especially - after 3 babies and one being a ceasar its not exactly firm (its flabby!) Keep telling myself I need to start doing my plaites again as I really did notice a difference, just never get motivated to do it.
How do you ladies get motivated to do exercise (I presume most are as part of their weight loss routine)

I don't think I will do too good this week. I've got a nasty cold. And when I get a cold I get infections. Already got a sinus and throat infection. Am on antibiotics so I don't much feel like exercising when I can't breathe or walk around without feeling dizzy

My form of exercise (when i can be bothered) is walking 20 minutes to the bakery and rewarding myself with a muffin. Hmm, i need to find a new walking route!
Have been thinking it's about time to start watching what i'm eating. Have been relatively stable weight wise but am on the last legs (?) of breastfeeding so won't be able to rely on that to keep me on the level.
sigh, just seems hard to get started. I've got such a lot of weight to shift. Size 24 now and would like to be a size 18.
I don't want to do my head in about losing weight, but does anyone have small changes that helped them to get started?

OK, can I join too?
Me and my best friend, who live in Blenhiem <im in aucks> are doing food diaries with eachother and trying to motivate one another to get back into the gym. Last year from July to Nov I lost 5kg's. Ive managed to keep it off but I havnt been to the gym in 6 weeks!!! Starting to feel slobby again, even though im still smaller than i was and weigh less..
So my goal is:
Weight now: 77kg's
Weight I want to be by August: 71kg's
I do plan to come off the pill in one more month, and really want to TTC by august, so want to be in peak condition.. Well as close as My diabetes is good, so thats ready to go. I just wanna lose a little more weight!

Of course you can join! Glad to have you on board!
Keep up the great work everyone! You will get there!
I keep a food diary to see where my problem areas are, now that I know where they are I find it easier to avoid certain times etc. I think they suggest keeping it for a month or so, just depends on how you feel!
other things you could do are do one day of really healthy eating and build it up. Drink more water. Do a few laps round the garden. I got into the habit during the summer of taking my daughter for a walk round the garden in the pram!
Also set a date when you are going to start and stick to it! Tell me what it is and I'll keep supporting you through it!
I'm now on day 4 and yesterday was hard. AF is coming up and I was hungry no matter what I ate! I sat and had a big bowl of salad with some cheese, so I didn't feel like I was missing out!
Today much better, done lots of housework so lots of bending and stretching! Will do my exercise DVD tomorrow and then at the weekend!

Hey, haven't been on here for days, sorry, got WW weigh in on Sat, didn't go last week as was away, and this week have AF.. grrrr, so fingers crossed by Sat I might have lost some weight as have been stressing out alot and doing loads of packing for our big move, and even went for a walk today so that was a bonus.
Donna, if you are keen to go for a walk sometime I am keen, have to get settled into the new place first.

I will just put up 74.8kg as my start weight as that is what I got last time I weighed myself. I am abstaining from it atm as AF has arrived and I am retaining fluid like it's going out of fashion

Totally understand the AF thing, mine has just finished and I have been eating like mad - a bit too scared to hope on the scales tomorrow.

Everyone will do great!! I just know it!
I jumped on the scales this morning...
Start weight (28/04) 96.9kg
Todays weight (09/05) 95kg
I've lost 1.9kg since I started and that was done even though I had AF!
So if I can do it you can too!!
PM me your weights/measurements and we'll get the ball rolling!!
Best of luck!
