What do you think?
It was quite stressful last time, but it also prepared me for the worse (I think).
I wondering whether just not to see the doc till i'm 6 weeks and then go straight for a scan?

Me personally I'm going to get my hcg done next time. It will help set my mind at ease a bit rather than sitting around wondering whats happening.
Congrats on the positive though!!!

congrats:) i wont be getting tests..mostly cause the doc lets you have one test and if thats high doesnt let me have another one..but i think if i had a choice i would have 2 tests to ensure doubling..but i dont get a choice so i guess at least i dont have to worry and my doc refers me for 6 week scans as well..
thats awesome news...lucky you being preg over summer:) hehe

Wow congrats Cuppatea!
I've done both post m/c - with the gremlins I had serial hCG's done and with this baby I had two done a week apart, and only had the second one coz I'd had a bit of spotting in between.
I can honestly say I was probably *more* anxious having the levels done. Of course I was anxious with this one, but I found with having the levels done that my anxiety peaked every second day when the results were due and it was almost incapacitating anxiety, whereas NOT having levels done I had a lower level, constant anxiety and was able to take my mind off things by distracting myself.
Just my experiences, but again - congrats!

I would test because you only have to think about it for a few days inbetween the tests, after that you know all is well! Or you could not test and drive urself nuts for the next few weeks I say do whatever you think will keep you sane!

I'd leave it. And this is speaking from m/c, one AF, then next pg. I worried over every little thing. Get an early scan if you can because the heartbeat is very reassuring. But I think the HCG test will just send you reeling, every time you feel something different (and you will cause all babies feel a little different in there), you'll be off to the dr wanting them rechecked lol
That's just me speaking for myself though!
CONGRATS and all best wishes for a healthy and sticky bub

I have just been through this - the longest twelve weeks EVER!!!!
I did the first test and then when I knew it had doubled decided not to do any more. I also think it is really stressful waiting for the nurse to ring back and worrying about what they would say. I had an early scan at 7 weeks and that was helpful.
I did find the last five weeks pretty hard though - especially when I let myself over analyse.
Congratulations on the positive. Wishing you all the best. Hope your first 12 weeks speeds by!

Right, have spoken to my lovely midwife who I had signed up with when I had the miscarriage. Plan is to have 2 blood tests hopefully today and wednesday and then leave it at that if the numbers look good. Possibly have an early scan but will talk with doc/midwife about that later.
Have decided that I am going to wait until I have had both bloods done before I ring for the results because knowing the first number on its own isn't going to help and I will only stress out if it is low and convince myself everything is wrong.
I am in work tomorrow so that should help me not phone the docs (I hope)

Well decided not to test in the end. He has offered to refer me for an early scan though so I might take that offer up.

he he he...I can see your mind changing back and forth!!! Remember if you DO test and Do get the results after the first one they probably will be low as you are very early on....that might freak you even though it is perfectly normal!
