Ok, so, being the loving parents that we are, we have kept every single piece of paper that had ever had a dot even put on it by paris (well, pretty much anyway)
add that up over 5 years, from 6mths old when she did her first painting, and you get, well, about 2 and a half 60litre containers worth, plus that overflowing now into the rest of her wardrobe.

So, we already use it for wrapping paper where and when possible. but seriously we are needing to downscale.
We would keep the really special ones (ie the one she did at 6 mths is awesome etc, and there are some that we really love)

We can't bear to just chuck them all out.

Me and mike jokingly said "maybe we should chuck them on trade-me!"   To which i then thought, why not? Why not stick a couple of pictures on with starting bid of 50cents as reserve, and see if they sell.

I mean surely people would see it for what it's worth, lol, i can't bear to chuck em out, but we can't keep them all, they're taking up so much space but she put her loving time into them.

Fair enough there's not the emotional connection or reasonning for someone else to want them like your usual grandparents etc might, but if some granny somewhere who lives far from her grandkids wants cute pictures to stick on her fridge, then so be it.

This is definately not a money making venture, just a bit of fun and hoping they can bring some joy to someone else. Who doesn't want bright colourful paintings on their fridge from time to time?

Do you guys have any thoughts... I know you guys will give it to me straight. what do you think of the idea?

Am gonna have a look and find a couple tonight and see how they go.

why not... it wont hurt.

(your other option may be to take pics of the artwork instead of keeping the originals...)

Exactly what Bizzy said, it can't hurt. And yep, I have pics of Maya's artwork so I don't feel so guilty about not keeping the originals.

LOL I'm so heartless! I've thrown out tons of Ella's creations (I didn't know we were supposed to keep them all, bad mummy! )
We've still got them coming out of our ears though, and those are just the sentimental ones and the particularly cool ones.
I've put a whole bunch of them up on her bedroom wall in an attempt to brighten and personalise her room.

taking up on your granny type idea for the fridge.,...how about offering to some oldies in a rest home....take kids for a visit and get them to hand out the piccies...check with the management but they will know which residents love or miss kids...I know mums one adores having ella in there and I even used to take dogs into mums one and my auntys one years ago for visits...I know they would LOVE piccies! You could even make it a monthly thing? Am sure the kids would like it tooo...

I like this idea. Many of the residents don't have any family visiting them, and I'm sure they would be thrilled to have a picture from your kids

jack isn't into painting much either so i don't have too much of a problem. i always grab everything he does at daycare though and if we have too many, i give them to my parents to go through.

i like the TM idea...try it and see what happens, you've got nothing to lose
