Depends on your handwriting - I always count approx how many words I write per line, multiply that by the number of lines on a page, then figure out about how many pages I need to make it up to 2000 words

Have you thought about doing your draft on the computer? That way you can just copy paste, move things around, word count as you go etc. And you don't have to retype at the end. Also helps with doing references and citations at the same time.

That's what I'm doing at the moment with 3 essays. (EEK) It's also quicker (for me anyway) to type than write.

Good luck! What's your essay on?

annnd when I was at uni, they prefered it typewritten as they had strict margin lines etc.

Good luck!!

Oh God, handwriting? Man you are brave! I chop and change so much that I couldn't handwrite anything even if I wanted to. If it had to be handwritten I'd type it first then copy it lol.
But typewritten single-spaced 2000 words is 4 pages so I guess handwritten would be a little more as handwriting tends to be bigger than printed fonts.

I agree...I always draft mine on the computer...far easier to chop and change and check the word count.

a good idea is to double space it on refill. if you prefer to do a draft on refill, then you can add, or chop nad change much more easily - a tip i give my kids who due to a lack of computers, often draft on paper.
