okay, so not really boys, but people. Since there really is no hope for the ex and I, I am wondering about meeting new people, (if some of them happened to be men, it probably wouldn't be so bad)

The thing is most of our social circle was based around him, so I feel like I have lost a lot of friends aswell, but I find it really hard to go out and meet people, I am not really a bar/pub kind of person so that is out of the question, but I feel so alone, I really have no one that lives nice and close that I can just call and say "hey I'm coming over for coffee"

Dont get me wrong I do have friends, some really good ones, but they are all the kind of people that you need to organise time with, my very very closest friend lives in japan at the moment, so I really miss her alot.

AAAAARGGGHHHH, I just need to meet some new people,

Sorry, feeling sorry for myself rant over..

you have an excellent resource for meeting people right in front of you now - thats right your computer. already you have Ohbaby and people from here meet up - there is online dating, on line chatrooms and online coffee groups and even online ones that meet IRL. actually i'll send you a link that i got today that you may find helpful... will PM later, hubby wants me to go outside for something...

I met DH on nzdating.. and I made other friends on there whilst I was on there who I'm now really good friends with IRL. It can be hard though to pick out the good ones from the creepy ones.

I think there's a few couples on here that met online, from memory BS and BSDH are one of them, and like Stacey said her and her DH.

As for friends, the gremlins and I are happy to come venturing over for coffee if you and Ethan are bored, altho I can't promise they won't teach him gremlin tricks...

Why not contact your local Plunket, in Palmy North they have a hand out which is 1 or 2 pages long of groups around the city of all different types. You could join just a mums social group or you could go to swimming/gym/music type groups. For me, having little kiddies at home provides an excellent excuse for getting in amongst those kinds of people - and if you run out of things to talk about, there's always the latest milestone!
