apparently children who go to preschool have 30% less liklihood of getting a serious illness.. (such as leukemia)

hmm interesting.. they compared playgroup children with those who dont go and the ones who went to daycare very young had 30% less likelihood of getting leukemia due to immune system being challenged early..so let them eat dirt and have exposure to germs early:)

and the following story said Nintendo Wii had been trialled in a rest home and been great for the old people:) hehe..

I heard about a similar study done in the UK that showed that livestock farmers were less likely to get serious illness such as cancer for the same reason. Apparently it's like a system reboot, they deal with so much bacteria their immune system is constantly challenged and therefore it learns to work harder - unlike us city slickers who have antibacterial everything.

Also, apparently if you live in a semi-dirty (obviously within reason and common sense!) house and don't wash hands, bodies or clothes as often, the same applies. Its all about germ exposure and building immunity.
Hard to change cleaning habits for the worse though eh?!

One of the reasons kids get so sick these days is because parents are uber-cautious. I'll be letting Jack eat whatever he wants (once at least so he finds out how disgusting things are) and playing in dirt. Never did me any harm and I think I turned out OK
